Ehhhh, say bye to the haters, say see ya later. BAM! :)

sounds like she feels a little threatened by you. like everyone else said - be the bigger person and stay positive.
i always say - do your talking on the mat.
all of this negative talk will eventually catch up with her.

Yep...just another case of someone throwing rocks at shiny things. Your program is obviously beginning to shine, otherwise the rocks wouldn't have been thrown. Take it as a compliment and keep being awesome.

I really thought that this was going to be another thread of Illinois cheer drama :p

Hahaha noo... don't worry, I think we've all had enough Illinois cheer drama for now! Just some (not so intense) Aussie cheer drama :P

HAHAHAAH i've been going trough this situation for YEARS!
have never competed in this division against the other gym until this year. and we ended up beating at a big nationals out here.

its just sad. it doesn't phase me. people are going to go where they damn please. & id rather have a small gym with good athletes and good routines. then a big gym with snobby coaches/gym owners & good talent.

its more then just winning at some point & gym owners/coaches teaching their athletes pure non sense i dont go for it.

Haha I would be surprised if she is feeling threatened, espesically since hers is a large, very well-established top program in our country with over 6 years experience (that's a lot for Aus!!) vs. my small, newbie gym... but maybe it's because I see it in a different light to how she does (where I see her as the intimidating one) - but who knows what is going on in her mind and behind closed doors at her gym! Could be a totally different story to what I perceive.

Thank you so much to everyone who has replied! All your advice is awesome :)

You're right - the best thing for me to do is take the high road, ignore her, and focus on developing my program and kids the way that I believe is best and following my personal ethics. Although we're a new program and, even if competing against them, in reality would likely not win even just due to sheer experience factor alone, everything takes time and as you say, putting something respectable and good on the mat will make us stand out in our own way, without any reference to them at all. Last night I was just so irritated at the comments but now I've had time to let it settle I can think more clearly and start to forget about it! I'm already looking forward to our first competition of the season in 9 weeks, and showing everyone (not just her) how much we have grown and improved. I think we're going to surprise some people! ;)

Thanks for taking the time to respond, it's much appreciated :)

You'd be amazed how threatened even a well established business is by someone else, no matter how new or small. Anyway, I wouldn't hesitate to let her know what you've been hearing, as nice and professional as possible of course ;). No need to drag anyone through the mud, just let her know what you've been hearing and you're so very concerned because you "know" she would say nothing of the sort.
