I think a Worlds bronze is pretty awesome (like, my kids I coach would all drool over it and he'd be THE MAN in the school/gym for having it.) But then again, your kids are probably surrounded by and friends with kids who have rings on rings on jackets on jackets. So I get it.

They are :) and he's not salty about no jackets at all. I think he's quite happy with his worlds hardware. She on the other hand.....

This year we are close by, walking distance, but I still plan on getting a cab from our hotel since we have an early call time, and it will most likely literally be freezing outside.

Beware, I've been told by numerous Dallas hotel personnel that during NCA you sometimes have to wait up to two hours for a taxi. I haven't experienced that but then I don't usually take a taxi to the venue. I'm sure it depends on the time so with an early call time you should be okay. Nonetheless, I'd make taxi arrangements the night before just to be safe. If your hotel has a Concierge ask them to arrange for your taxi. They have all the secret numbers and connections to make it happen.

She only wears it in Dallas so, it's not something I normally have to keep track of. Which is why I lose it. Well, if it gets cold enough she'll wear it for a few days until the temp rises a little. She loves it. It's just not always practical when it doesn't get that cold here. Lol.

When fortunate enough to win. My CP wears her jacket during red carpet and pictures. And possibly at the airport boarding the plane. Otherwise, it remains in her closet never to be seen. But, you'd think it was made of Gold.

However, numerous times over the years we've been to competition and met bubbly little cheerleaders in the lobby or elevator before competing. Then we've run across them later looking sad because they hadn't won. If we have won, my daughter will give the individual her jacket. My daughter feels like she's been blessed with many jackets in her cheer career and the jacket means so much to the little one that she's happy to share. Excluding NCA or UCA jackets that is. Over the years we always wondered how the little cheerleaders were doing and wondered if they still cheered etc. Then one day my daughter got an email from one of the little cheerleaders. She wanted to tell my daughter that she was now winning competitions and had just had the opportunity to give her winning jacket to a sad little cheerleader that had not been fortunate enough to win. Sometimes it's the little things that make an impression. You just never know.

I feel like people look at me and say well she isn't a cheerleader and doesn't look like a coach so why is she wearing an NCA and who did she get it from? I feel like Hoodies are different .: I wouldn't judge you and with it being a hoody I'm not sure people would pay enough attention to see if it was a national champion hoodie or one of the ones you can buy in the shop at the comp.

Just when I wear my NCA jacket I feel like that... And I could be completely wrong but I try to be conscious of it! Lol

I highly recommend Uber. We used it for the first time in Atlanta last weekend and were very happy with the service.

That's a great idea. That's something I hadn't even considered.

I have looked into Uber, and am not comfortable with it. My DH actually feels very strongly and is against me and CP using them at all. A coworker of mine requested a female driver in December and was sent a male driver (she refused the ride and was left stranded for an hour).

Their "background" checks for their drivers are not thorough and do not include finger printing etc, which are required by the big taxi companies. They rely on "personal identifiers such as license numbers and SSN". According to one article I read, there is no way to ensure that these applicants are truly who they claim to be. They were sued in California last year for claiming to have "best available" background checks. Uber is working on improving this but I do not know if they have yet. There have been a handful of assaults by Uber drivers as well.

Just something to keep in mind. I haven't looked into Lyft.

You guys have been a great source of information...can I pick your brains for a bit more??? LOL
For those who have driven to the Convention Center....
1. How early do I need to be there to get parking in Convention Center lot??
2. If I arrive a bit later how easy is it to find and park in surrounding lots?
3. Will streets around Convention Center be so congested that I will not be able to drop off passengers by the entrance?
4. What is going on with Horseshoe Construction Project near the Convention Center? Will it have an impact on the streets surrounding the Center?
I am really pushing for the train but have friends that really insist upon driving (we are staying outside of city)
