Recently, I heard about a new 2011-2012 USASF rule. I’m not sure if it is true or not, so it would be great if somebody on here could clear this up for me. The ‘new’ rule is; a pair of gyms (or more than 2) are not allowed to combine one level only, for example UA + 5star combining level 5 teams during the 2009-2010 season. Supposedly this is not allowed anymore? Please clear this up for me!

Item 47 from the NACCC rules vote was that "An All-star program is defined as having one EIN (tax ID)"

This item passed by 75.43% It is possible that will mean programs will not be able combine to form one team but we have to wait until the final wording comes out to know for sure.

Wow I never thought about that rule working like that, will be interesting if it does. Isn't that what Team Texas was this past season?

They would still be able to create a new business for the combined team(s), but the athletes on it wouldn't be able to compete with their original gym and the combined team.

We don't know how the rule is going to work yet. What we know is that a majority of membership voted for it.

This rule was not listed on the passed rules...

Scratch that: No one knows like shark dad said but it says...
"This proposal will be reviewed further by business and legal experts to ensure that no unintentional outcomes occur as a result of mandating that EINs define a program".
not for certain but I am sure it will be different for international b/c coaches and kids come from all over to do teams in the international div.

I also am sure that it may not matter with the releasing of athletes from a program... All they have to do is release them back and forth.
