I'm from Missouri, but went to my first Sox game at Fenway 12 years ago, sat in the old wooden seats, and instantly fell in love. Now that I go to school surrounded by Cards fans this victory is even sweeter for me. Seriously wishing I was in Boston right now!!! Let's do it again next year!!! Boston Strong baby!!!!

I have been trying to decide if I want to take my kids to the parade - it is Saturday so I'm thinking half of New England will be there, train service is down for the weekend where we live:confused: and I don't know Boston streets well at all and the kids have practice later in the day. But your post just made me decide that yes, we are going - we are so lucky to have such great sports teams and have had so many victory parades and we have never gone to them for one reason or another, and so I'm going to get up at the crack of dawn, wing it and figure out where to go. Now if only Dicks hadn't sold out of nearly everything by 8:00 this morning I'd have something to wear:(

You can turn them off! Go to your page, go to settings and then scroll down to image previews and there's a little switch thing that you slide to turn them off. That's how you do it on a phone so I'm pretty sure it would be the same on a computer!

You're gonna wanna kill me but...
I will never like Janet. I like Michael's voice, I can respect both of them as dancers and performers, but they lip synced more than any artist I've heard of (with the exception of maybe Britney, Millie Vanillie, and the other obvious lip syncers), and Janet's voice was average at best. Her song quality was high but girl could not sing.

Janet Damita Jo Jackson is everything. In her defense she does lip sync, however she lip syncs to tracks that she recorded while doing the choreo. That's more than most artist can say...and she's also damn near 100 and still looks flawless. Sure she looks like shes washed her face in botox but shes still slaying others from her era (I'm looking at you, talentless Madonna that currently looks like something out of Tales from the Crypt. Yes her voice is average...but to be real most peoples voices are average. Beyonce, Aaliyah, TLC, Usher, Chris Brown, Miley Cyrus (I've played the h-ll out of Bangerz) any artist that is and ever was current in the last 20 years have been average vocalist. Everyone out right now can only pray to be average at best and then let their performance qualities make up the rest and keep them above the rest of the pack. If you can't dance and twerk and perform nobody is here for you. That's why Ariana Grande is going to go nowhere. Her voice is beautiful, but every time I watch her perform I'd rather not (that and she also has a speech impediment that drives me insane). Nobody has time for powerhouse vocalist (sorry Whitney and Mariah...but I mean Nippy you're dead and your voice was a bit of a struggle before you died and Mariah...well girl... yeah we will see how this album does :/).

Anyway this is why I don't care if an artist is "average" because they all are. I even think Michael's voice at the end of the day average with the exception of

Anyway this is flawless and nobody else could ever.

I personally am offended that you put Beyonce into the same sentence as any of those people. I think if you're going to compare "average" vocals this day and age you're talking the people you mentioned, I'd say Bey, Christina (as of late), Kelly, Carrie, people like that are more than average. I'd have even put Mariah in with those singers in her prime. Take away her whistle and you've got a good vocalist, but nothing over the top or special. If we're talking flawless vocalists, you'd be hard pressed to find anyone (outside of classically trained people like Andrea Bocelli and Josh Groban) who I'd consider as flawless as Whitney and Celine. I think Beyonce's power isn't even evident because, like you said, no one has time for it. Hence Jennifer Hudson flopping even though she has some GREAT R&B music.
I think we're gonna have to agree to disagree about Janet. I don't respect artists who lip sync THAT much (I'll be the most honest Bey stan here and say the woman lip syncs every night she's on stage. She hasn't sung Love On Top live outside of the Superbowl and Get Me Bodied live since 2006, with the exception of acapella parts), especially if their voices aren't spectacular to begin with. I think Janet's credibility has always been due to Michael's success, honestly, and Michael is the only artist I have ever fully excused lip syncing from because, afterall, how can you criticize a man when he moves like that?

Beyonce is not a vocalist. Shes is a performer. Matthew made sure of that. Joe Jackson made performers and THAT is why Janet and Michael were successful, I hate to say it but Jermaine and his greasy skull had (at times, during the 80's) better vocal performances than Michael. However he didn't appeal to audience...and how could he with that unfortunate greasy head of his.

Also Janet's success is because of her family (Joe). Not Michael. Joe handpicked her from the pack and put her on the stage. Ole girl wanted to act, however Joe realized that Janet could accomplish what LaToya and Rebbie couldnt (Centipede is a mess and nobody can convince me otherwise). Without Joe there could be nothing...sure he looks like the Grinch that Stole Michael Jackson's childhood...but one must give him credit where it is due.

Jennifer Hudson has a good voice but she hollers, like a freed slave running toward the north star...and I simply cannot with all of that. Even still her shining moment vs Beyonce's shining moment in Dreamgirls.... she can't compare even though she did a perfectly adequate job with "Listen" (and that's a compliment coming from me because quite frankly I felt like everything in the movie was oversold and I simply was not convinced)

I've always felt that Kelly Rowland's voice was just as "good" as Beyonce's if not better...but she does not have "it"...it being x-factor (not to be confused with that talent competition that claims that they are looking for the x factor...because none of them have it). I could go into why Kelly did not find success like Beyonce but like I don't have the time to go there because a lot of it has to do with color struck society... colorism in AA and what will also commercially appeal to the masses. I mean yeah. It is what it is. If there had to be one...

If you have "it" in whatever facet of life you're living in you can sell anyone anything.

I think Bey doesn't show off the fact that she has the potential to be a powerhouse vocalist (aside from a few songs) because the industry doesn't want it, so she's fit into this niche of being the "performer" like Michael.

I simply cannot buy what you're selling...but I'll still give Beyonce my $14.99 in the event she ever drops another album. Same as I did Queen Miley Cyrus and Lady Drake. Miley and Bey in the same category though? Bangerz was TRASH outside of FU, 4X4, Drive, and Wrecking Ball. Don't get me started on Drake... Will never be a fan.
