My heart is officially broken today. Maya Angelou passed away. I remember being in grade 11 and seeing Oprah's Master Class with her and it honestly changed the way I look at life. She was so amazing with words and probably the single most well-spoken person on this planet.

she really, really was. so well-spoken and inspiring.

side note related, but unrelated... i was sitting in class a few minutes early today, and i actually overheard this conversation: "some lady Maya Angel died." "Who the F is that?" "Let me google her... oh some civil rights activist. she hasn't tweeted since May 26th." like that actually happened. and i cringed. i couldn't even interrupt them to correct them because i could not put into words how phenomenal of a woman she was and the profound impact she will leave on the world. i was just dumbfounded that they had NO IDEA.

I still can't get over the shooting at all. Like I am absolutely shocked. There are no words to describe what that man did. So disgusting. I'm glad you are safe!!

Luckily I live 45 minutes to an hour away but thank you! I have friends who attend and I am just glad that they are safe.

So I haven't gotten a letter in 3 weeks from my "bf" in the Navy. He graduates in a week. Turns out he never actually did break up with his "ex" before getting with me. He wrote to me and her on the same day saying the exact same things. I'm so mad. All his stuff is now in a box ready to be given back. It sucks because I still love my ex and miss him so much. He doesn't trust me relationship wise anymore :(

It's actually shocking the differences between Canada and the US considering how similar much of our societies are in many ways.
Side note... Did not know America didn't have fries supreme from Taco Bell... It's about the only reason I ever go to Taco Bell
