Ouch, them are fighting words to some on the boards. Was listening on the radio and so wish had seen that on TV. Was just an incredible, almost unreal, finish to listen to.

What genre do you like / don't you like? What have you read recently? Anything else we need to know about your reading habits?
Really just anything! Not really a fan of romance books though. I just re-read The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest and am currently reading Anna Karenina. But, really just any books you've recently read or like or have heard are good are fine with me! :)

My tonsils are bulging out to East China. Does anyone have any remedies that actually work to get the swelling down? Besides eating ibuprofen like candy and gurgling salt water?

One of my favorite pastimes is searching for a video on youtube and then going down a rabbit hole of the related videos. Tonight I ended up on a video of Steven Page covering "Hallelujah" after searching for Tegan and Sara's cover of "Time after Time".
I just went down that rabbit hole myself...started off by reading an article in The Onion, ending up with watching Jimmy Fallon's parody of Breaking Bad.

I just finished Jeffrey Maguire's Wicked (I had seen the play years ago but the book is phenomenal). Doctor Sleep by Stephen King was a good read.

Some books I've currently (re-)read and liked:

- Special Topics in Calamity Physics by Marisha Pessl
- The Glass Palace by Amitav Ghosh
- 13 1/2 Lives of Captain Bluebear by Walter Moers (I also liked "The Labyrinth of Dreaming Books")
- Inkheart trilogy by Cornelia Funke

I have read all of those books in German though, so I don't know if they are equally great in English...

Okay so I know this is probably a super long shot, but has any one on here or does any one on here know someone who has had ankle fusion surgery? My orthopedist is strongly recommending that I have my subtalar joint fused (it is already about 90% fused with arthritis and I have almost no motion in it) to relieve the pain I'm having. I'm very hesitant though because I don't really know what to expect after and this makes me nervous about what will happen/what it will be like on a daily basis. So I'm trying to find someone to connect with who can maybe help me by letting me know their personal experiences.
