I feel like you've been reading comments on a news story shared by a news station on facebook.

But yes. I hate racists. I hate the south. The only thing that keeps me here is the weather and knowing that I'm better than them.....cuz I am....

But to be fair the first time I was ever called the n-word was when I lived in Ohio....when I was 3.

That's really unfair. There are idiots everywhere.

Whats unfair? I mean the reason I said that the first time I was ever called that was outside of the south pretty much acknowledges that I am aware that there are "idiots"(although I think being a racist is more than being a plain idiot) everywhere.

Which is why I don't base where I live on the location of "idiots" (racists)

I was primarily referring to hating the south and not living here because you know you're better than "them". I'm assuming that's referring to everyone in the south.

She does live in the south! She said "the only thing that keeps me here" as in living in the south. I took the "better than them" as referring to racist people but she could've meant everyone, idk.

So I misunderstood that part.

I live in South Carolina.... Charleston South Carolina...I'm from Columbia South Carolina. I was born on Fort Jackson in South Carolina. I was educated K-graduate school in South Carolina.

I hate the south the same way someone in NYC might say they hate the cold and the crowd.

I hate racists. I'm better than racists so therefore racists don't keep me from living anywhere or doing anything, and that is what I meant. I didn't say I don't live in the south because I'm "better than them"

I said knowing that I'm better than the racists allows me to KEEP living in the south

im really not trying to start anything and i know its a southern culture type thing or whatever you would like to refer it as. but i always kinda laugh when people say yeah im from the south. yet they say they live in the carolinas, etc. i guess growing up in florida my entire life im just use to doing this

granted i would not consider most parts of florida southern, considering how crazy people tend to be who live in this great state, but still. ha.

pretty sure anything south of the Mason-Dixon Line is considered "the south" and Florida is sorta in its own category because some of it is like the south and some is like north easterners who moved down there :) ex: where my grandparents live is all old people from the northeast but in no way is it "southern" there

People from missouri who think they're southern are the worst. NOOOO
I'm originally from Virginia which some people consider the south but I definitely don't, at least not where we lived. I tell people "I'm from the east coast" and I would never ever ever say I'm from the south.

They are more southern than northern. So, what do you call them?

I consider any state where I have to specify my iced tea to be unsweet as the south.
