OT New New Random Thread...

I'm from Massachusetts and moved to South Carolina when I was 16. I definitely consider myself to be living in a southern state considering the way of life and how far south it is from even mid Atlantic states that are also below the Mason-Dixon Line. I'm not sure how NC, SC, GA, etc. wouldn't be considered southern states...?

im really not trying to start anything and i know its a southern culture type thing or whatever you would like to refer it as. but i always kinda laugh when people say yeah im from the south. yet they say they live in the carolinas, etc. i guess growing up in florida my entire life im just use to doing this :rolleyes:

granted i would not consider most parts of florida southern, considering how crazy people tend to be who live in this great state, but still. ha.

My grandma lives in West Palm Beach... old people and rich people and rich old people. Very few of them that are actually Floridian.

The South is actually a region... I don't understand how you can say it's not. "People" don't call it that - it's actually named that. And it is technically anything south of the Mason Dixon line.

"Yous" is a Philly thing. And I used to hate ya'll but my boyfriend's family is southern so they use it all the time and now I say it too!

I don't hate ya'll, I like it, but I hate that people that I know who aren't southern and have never spent large amounts of time in the south (or aren't related to anyone southern) try to say it all the time. Like no, I know you're just saying that because you think it's cool. Idk but it just bothers me. I can think of at least four people who do that.

That doesn't bother me at all. Lol "y'all" is an everyday word here in Texas :)

I also find it funny that people up north call cokes, pop, or soda. Here in TX everything's a coke, a sprites a coke, dr peppers a coke, a root beer is a coke....we weird I know :) @Angelica can relate to me!
