Girl, you never lie on that matter... I laugh because both my husbands were in the room with me when I was having my son(ex-husband) and daughter (husband) and the 2 never wanted to have anymore children and they just witnessed the childbirth process... My ex-husband had 2 more kids with his new wife, but I was told he refused to be in the birthing room again...too much pain, I guess!
lol yet it will be "too painful" to SEE and NOT feel.

I love the Disney cruise as a grown up and I was just thinking about the mindset of Seniors in HS... It can be a wonderful thing, but only thing these HS Seniors are thinking about is Mickey and Co. and not the other Adult activities they can partake in, that is all I was considering when I say that Disney Cruise is too immature...
Well you have to be 18 to go to the adult only places and they have a bunch of fun activities there, so if they are old enough they can do that. When I went around at 17 I think I spent most of my time during the day tanning/relaxing on deck 13. It was nice this time around because I was finally old enough to go to the 18 and older spots. Love that adult pool!!

Has anyone on here been on a carnival cruise? We're looking at one for senior trip and I was just wondering if it's worth it. The one we will probably be going on is 7 days and stops at Cozumel, Cayman Islands, and Cancun.

Been on carnival and royal Caribbean, I would choose royal any day. Carnival just wasn't up to par

I'm so annoyed right now. I'm trying to get a credit card so I can move into an actual house with my fiance. Since I'm under 21, I can't just do that. I have reliable income and am a student, and I'm not getting approved for anything. Both of my parents have excellent credit, and neither of them will cosign for me because they dont want to take the chance of ruining their own credit. Rob cant cosign for me because we arent married.

I'm just so irritated and I feel so stuck. I dont want to be stuck in this one bedroom apartment until for the next year and a half, I'll go crazy.

How can you build credit when you need credit to build credit??

It's a process. Job first, then small credit cards with low limits. If you're unemployed you're in a bind because nobody will give you credit without a guarantee of payback.

I work full time. I think that's why I'm so frustrated with it! I applied for a few student cards, because they tend to be just what I'm looking for. I'm not looking to actually use the card too much, either. Its solely to build credit.

I know you are not going to like to hear this at 21, but I sure wished that someone had told me at an early age to stay away from those credit cards and those high interest rates. The sad fact is credit cards have ruined more people lives and indebted so many to the credit card companies -- Please don't do it and just open a checking account and get a debit card, which can help with building credit without the headache of interest rates... Save your money and use your own money to purchase things for right now!!!

Serious note: Look at this setback as a blessing, I wish I can turn back the clock 30 years and never filled out that credit card application that they were pushing down us poor college students throat and to get a stupid mug or T-Shirt for my troubles... It bit me in the butt for at least the next 10 years....

I have a debit card. Im trying to build credit so that I can move into an actual house with my fiance and his son. It's not for the spending.

It is crazy how easy it is to get debt young! My son got a credit card for school stuff when he went away for college. Now he gets offers in the mail for other ones every week.

I'm in the process of establishing credit now. I've got enough to get me in apartments and whatnot, but I'd probably be in your boat right now if I tired to get a house at this point. My credit is pretty bad right now because 1. length of accounts, which can only improve over time, 2. the amount of student debt in my name (a lot) vs. how much I'm actually making (not a lot), 3. I had like one late car payment 8 months ago that's still on there.

I really wanted to stay away from credit cards but I'm basically being forced in to one to make the payments on time to improve my credit. It seems like such a backwards system and I hate it.

I know that credit cards have put a lot of people in debt but if you are smart with your credit card then I don't think it's a problem. Buy only what you have money for. Pay off your balance in full every month. Don't take money out on your credit card from ATMs. When you start buying things on credit that you don't have money for then that's when the problems start. Credit cards, and money in general, are a big responsibility that I am finding a lot of young people cannot handle.

@AllstarObsession - last year, my bank denied me for a credit card when I applied for one too. They told me it was because of my student loans. I applied for a Bank of America one and I was accepted. (21 years old, working full time during the summer, part time at school, my parents didn't want to co-sign either. Not that I was going to ruin their credit because I have always been a frugal spender but because it was my responsibility to make sure I took care of it, not theirs). Flash forward to this summer: my brother applies for one through our bank. Denied. He applies for one through BOA - the same exact one I got. Denied. But his situation was exactly the same as mine except he is 20, not 21. But working a lot, no co-signer, has the same amount if student loans, etc. When I asked my dad why I got approved for one and he didn't my dad said the economy might have something to do with it. When the economy is down credit card companies will accept everyone so they can get money. When the economy is up they are more hesitant and they aren't going to be willing to take chances on everyone. So if that is true and the economy is up, you might have a tough time finding someone who accepts you for one, because let's face it, us youngins are a risk for them.

Bank of America offered my brother this: because they are not our bank and we don't have accounts through them, my brother could open a small checking account with them and use it for a year. Then next year reapply for the credit card and he should have more of a chance of getting it. If the bank sees that he was careful with this account (no huge purchases, no taking more money out then you have, have a steady flow if some sort of income) and he still gets denied, the bank guy we talked to will fight to make sure it is approved the next month or so when he reapplies again. Because we don't have accounts there, the bank guy had no ground to stand on to back him up on why BOA should approve him.

I don't know your exact situation, but this could be an option for you if all else fails. I know it's not what you wanted exactly and will take extra time but it sounds like you'll have more of a chance to be approved next time around. I would go in and talk with banks around you to see 1. Why you're getting denied for cards and 2. What you can do/what can they do for you to make sure you're approved for one the next time you apply. Good luck!

at 18 i got a Discover card. they have a student card so you shouldn't be denied if you apply for that one specifically. the limit started out at like $500 but i used it as almost a debit card and never charged more than i had solely to build credit. they have slowly increased the limit throughout the years, too.

Drop $50 for a secured credit card and charge tiny tiny amounts for 6 months.

Go to a credit union and take out a secured loan with your own money, and pay it back every month.

Easy ways to build and establish credit

My sister got a credit card from Wells Fargo with a $1000 limit on it. She had to put her text books on the card and my mom immediately paid it off

I put my car payment on my credit card every month and then immediately pay it off. I'm a stickler for not buying things I can't afford (which I suppose is hypocritical of me since i can't afford my student loans.....)

I have a student credit card with my bank so I'll have a little bit of credit when I get out of college, it was actually really easy to get. When I opened my new checking/savings account they asked if I wanted to apply for one and I wasn't too sure about it. but I only use it buy a tank of gas a month at least, and I pay it off a few days after I buy it. Try getting one with your bank! Mine only has a $500 dollar limit though, so I'm not sure how that would work if you needed a higher credit line. It makes it really easy to pay though because you can transfer the money between accounts on your phone or online when you need to pay it off.
