We did an email RSVP for each of my daughters' bat mitzvahs. It not only saved us money because we did not have response cards and envelopes printed and then stamped, but we liked that we were using less paper and contributing a little less to environmental clutter. I think that has become a lot more common around here for parties in general.
Parties I'm fine with Email RSVP (showers, bar/bat mitzvahs, sweet 16's, etc). I do emails for most of my parties as well. But weddings I feel, maybe I'm just traditional in this way, should have a response card :D. And my cousin just bothers me anyways lol so that adds to my dislike haha

I totally get it. I have a sister-in-law like that :).

I've got a good one. My best friend's stepsister just got engaged. She's 18, he's 19, they've been together 8 months. She got engaged AT her brother's wedding. Literally near the ceremony space right before it started. Her mother (also the groom's mother) almost missed the ceremony of her son because she was too busy taking and posting pictures of the newly engaged couple.

I should clarify... I do know etiquette. And I technically know why. I just think it's dumb. I've NEVER been one to follow Emily Post, much to my grandmother's dismay.

I'm old enough that I'm definitely now in the camp of, "If you find someone willing to spend the rest of their life dealing with your BS, forget what everyone else thinks." Do you. And if y'all are so horrified by these people, stay your @$$ home and don't hog up a spot at their weddings!

I'm glad I'm not "real life" friends with most of you! [emoji1] [emoji12] Because for real.... If I find a husband, I'm breaking all the rules. I'm having a wedding (even tho I'm old and it would be my 3rd), and I'm wearing a white dress! Who knows... I might even ask for a honeymoon, because I swear I do NOT need another blender or a gravy boat! And you can all get right on here and tsk tsk about it all day long. I won't care because I'll be in Fiji.

You could just not register if you don't need stuff, there's no requirement to do so and it gets the point across pretty well. I'd give you cash even if you did ask for a gravy boat, just because that's what I do.

I was at a wedding this saturday for my 20 year old cousin and his girlfriend for 6 years (he turns 21 this year but still) and they had asked for money for theyre honeymoon and got it too. i think they got like over 10 000 SEK (or around 1300 dollars or something like that.) Sure they got presents as well but most people gave them money.

A little late but I graduated this weekend!! From preschool to senior year it's been a long haul. So happy to finally be done!! :D Also the principal changed his stance on our caps at the last second so we got to decorate them! Since it was so late I couldn't go with my original plan, but I love the way it came out.

I've paid 120 a ticket for One Direction concerts and they werent even close to the stage. Last year it was in the 200's section way in the back of the venue and this year theyre in the 100's along the side of the stage but yet again not really that close. Its insane how much people have to pay to get good seats.

I paid about $200 each for corner lower bowl seats for Justin Timberlake. But that was absolutely pushing it. This is just....on another level.
