ahhhh...this week was nutssss!!!! I had 10 girls in my cabin, and one seemed to be very slightly autistic, one was recently adopted from Ethiopia so she barely understood/could communicate english, two sisters were always hysterically crying of homesickness...it was a mess!! Somewhere along the mess 5 of my crazy girls accepted Christ, which was of course-AMAZING!! And getting to be witness to them is something I won't ever forget. Thanks for the love and prayers everyone, God is really working through me this summer :)

I feel like everyone who's ever lived with a dog can relate to this.

OMG! I just love and laughed so hard watching this video because this reminds me so much of my late doberman, Cleo, she was the same exact way and she will often jumped in my cp's lap and at the time my daughter was only 4 or 5 years old and she will be screaming, while Cleo will have this nonchalant look on her face...Btw, she look like a giant next to my daughter, but she was an overprotective gentle giant, so cute...lol

I just found out that our showcase is program wide at UNLV and I am beyond excited!! I get to go to vegas which is my favorite thing and see all of our sister gyms with my friends that I never get to see. Not to mention that I get to see the transformation of all of our worlds teams. I'm probably pretty late on this but I can't wait!!!

Edit: Go UNR. Not down with the college choice but I understand it haha

I really hope this isn't true! From a parent's perspective, I already go broke each season traveling for actual comps, and this is another major expense for no potential "payout" for lack of a better term.

Congratulations to Quadimodo (pit Shepard mix) for winning the 2015 Worlds Ugliest Dog contest.

She's Been Named The 'World's Ugliest Dog,' But We Think She's Beautiful

**Big shout out to the Boarder that tagged me in the "Cute Puppy" pictures on the other FB. You are the best**
She is kinda cute in a creepy way! [emoji23][emoji23]

Sorry to move onto a serious topic, but I heard on the news today that a woman scaled a flag pole in SC taking down a confederate flag... I say, HECK YASS! As an African American/Black that flag represents worse kind of racism and flown during the horrible times when people were lynched in its name, which in essence, no different from a swastika for the Jews and hmm, you know, I do not see any swastika freely flying in front of any state buildings, why do they need to have a meeting over whether to take this flag down and waste more tax dollars, just snatch it down, NOW!..

Non-cp and I watched the video a few minutes ago. I loved how when she came down she simply stated she was fully prepared to be arrested. I don't understand how/why states can still fly the confederate flag from their state house. Or why people would want to wear it on a shirt, or have it on a bumper sticker.

I won't go into my views on that situation, but my understanding of the flag at the SC state building is that there happens to be a war memorial right next to it where the flag is, that it isn't actually a part of the state building. Someone please correct me if I am wrong, I don't want to spread false info.
I've also always found it kinda strange that what people associate to be the "Confederate flag" wasn't actually the flag of the Confederacy, but the Battle Flag of Northern Virginia. Where I'm from, you can't go 2 blocks without seeing one so I've never thought twice about it, but I can definitely see why people wouldn't want to see it.

The flag flew atop of the state house since the 60s. It was placed on the statehouse to show that they didn't want to integrate the schools. To intimidate black people. To show hate. To show that they didn't want us here.

It was moved to the front of the state house in 2000 as a compromise. It is next to a confederate war memorial. The gate was added to the memorial after people kept taking it down

The African American memorial wasn't added to the state house grounds until around 2011. It features a slave ship.

Some of this information is fuzzy considering today.

Thank you for clarifying.

@luv2cheer92, I read your message and unfortnately, the beloved flag you remembered flying all over Virginia have been used to instill racial hatred and killings toward a group...This is similar to the swastika, which before Hitler represented "well being and good fortune and was highly represented in the Hindu and other Europeans nation as a good symbol, but the Nazis took a positive symbol and made it into a symbol of hatred, try to explain to a Jewish person that swastika that was placed all over your town is a good thing...You know what? I do not see anybody trying to tell Jews to forget about the Holocaust and lets compromise and allow us to place a swastika anywhere... But it behooves me why it is okay to ask African-Americans, who have been victims of this confederate flag, a symbol of hatred to compromise in where it should be flown...Can you explain how this is different?
