Wow, and I thought my place was bad. My landlord told us that the unit was "professionally cleaned" with the carpets steamed and everything the day before we moved in. There was still garbage and nails all over the carpets and dirt all over the counters, on other floors, and in the cupboards. The bathroom was disgusting, with a visible dirt pile in one corner. He also said that he had painters come in and re-paint. Later admitted those painters were him and the people next door.
He also made us pay a security deposit when on the lease it says there shouldn't be one. It's $10 a month to have a dog and apparently it wasn't coming out automatically and when my boyfriend went to pay it the landlord took out $120 from my account. I told him that I would pay $10 month to month with the rent incase anything changed with the dog. I keep three copies of everything including receipts incase he tries to screw us over in the end. And he's from NFLD so I don't understand a word he says.Omg that sounds like our landlords to a T. His "construction crew" is like three guys, all of which do/sell hard drugs. There was an issue with the apartment next door, and they were supposed to do some repairs. None of them showed up the day of because they were all in jail.
If they were making you pay for "professional cleaning" I would have asked for a receipt!

Landlords suck. Why can't people just be straight forward and nice..?He also made us pay a security deposit when on the lease it says there shouldn't be one. I'm 100% considering moving to a suburb of Philadelphia. My aunt lives there, it's cheap, I looooove Pennsylvania. Rob can't/won't move out of state though soo ):<. I definitely feel like an east coast person, I genuinely can't stand California.

I'm with you! Over California. When my kids are grown, I'm moving to Texas, with or without my husband! ;)
I'm the opposite, lol love California and couldn't imagine living anywhere else, shoot I have a hard time when I leave my county! My hubby and I have grown up in the same county and now our Cp is going to the same middle school we did [emoji4] and I'm hoping she attends the same high school we did. The only complain I have about were we live is that it has been hotter than usual[emoji35] I prefer the mid 80's not 100's all summer long!

Well, you live in the more luxurious part of So Cal. lol I'm in the armpit up here.
No, seriously, I'm tired of the people around here (other than my cheer mom friends who totally rock!), the politics of the state, the school system is horrible here, taxes are outrageous, etc. California is one of the worst states to retire in tax-wise. The ONLY thing that attracts me here is the weather. Here in Ventura, it's one of the best climates in the whole world, comparable to the mediterranean, I'm told. Besides, I have family in Texas. I have no family anymore left in Cali... :(
Philly is crowded and cold. It's crowded and hot. ):< .

I'm from Rowlett, about 15 mins outside of Garland and Rockwall. Southern hospitality is real in TX.That's hopefully exactly where I'll land. My cousins are in Plano and Richardson with another one moving from here back to Dallas where he's from, in just a couple of months. My parents and brother left here years ago. People are so freaking nice in Texas. It's like a culture shock when I visit!
:jawdrop: Tex mex is LIFE lolWe are in such a bubble where I live [emoji15] few years ago my parents took cp and her cousins to Hollywood and the girls where freaking out because there was tagging everywhere!
It's nice but there is lots of snobs where we live :( I'm more laid back and could care less about labels and designer shoes and purses, if I had to move somewhere I would end up somewhere laid back like Hawaii, Colorado and Portland seem pretty laid back also ;) as far as Texas, I hate Tex Mix(not a lot of tex mix in CALI so not used to it at all) [emoji15] but I do love big hair and the Southern hospitality!
