CheerBank we need an ark for the horses! If it doesn't drain soon we may need that boat. If it'll just stop raining the wind will take care of it. We still have power (ya ya!) but cell service is in and out so I'm tweeting and hopping on here and facebook when I can. It took me a while to send this bc I had to wait for service again.

QUESTION:
Anyone about my age (a newly minted 23 year old. Emphasis on old.) who uses a credit card? Which one do you use and why? It's high time for me to open one and I have options but not sure what! I suppose my credit is ok, I don't really have any that I know of. What do I do??!

I know you've already gotten a thousand responses, but as a 22 year old with nearly perfect credit (who isn't using daddy's money), who just graduated college, bought a car, and is paying her way through grad school, I thought I should chime in.

I have two credit cards.

My favorite and most often used is Discover. You get 1% cash back on every dollar you spend. (and then each month has a special i.e. double cashback on groceries/gas/travel/movies/etc.) it adds up fast and you can use it for so many things. (they have a shop where you can literally buy merchandise, you can trade it in for giftcards from awesome stores, or, my 2 favorite options, you can deposit the money into a bank account or use it towards your monthly statement.) no annual fees or stupid hidden things.

The only issue, and reason for credit card #2, is because Discover offers all of those awesome rewards, it isn'y accepted everywhere. (apparently stores have to pay higher fees to take Discover) So, I have a Bank of America - Susan G. Komen card. It is a Visa, you get some rewards back (not nearly as much as Discover) and they donate to cure breast cancer. again, no annual fees, no nonsense.

I would say no to American Express - unless you want to pay at least $100 annually just to use the card.

And the key to my perfect credit is using them like a debit card. I was petrified of getting a credit card - but according to my mom I needed to build my credit since I needed a new car - So, even though I am charging, I will not purchase anything that exceeds the amount of money in my checking account. I have to force myself to wait to pay the bill until the monthly statement comes out... i usually pay immediately, though  can't help it.

lol once I get the frogs out of the pool we will definitely have a party!
Yes my husband breeds thoroughbreds and we currently have 4 in the barn. One is just a colt. The water is receding though and we were able to move them to some empty dry stalls so they're doing great!

That's awesome! I have 3 Morgans and a mini. I'm glad to know someone else who is crazy enough to do both allstar cheer and horses. Glad the horses found higher ground! Hoping you get to dry out soon. I complain about the snow and cold but it is so sad to see so much devastation with these hurricanes, tornados etc. :(
