Interesting article about dancers lol.

Last line of the article is especially interesting: "If cheerleaders are necessary, why are there no cheerleaders for any women's sports?"
-True for professional sports dancers but not for actual cheerleading where squads cheer on Women's Basketball teams, Volleyball teams, and sometimes even soccer teams!
 
I wish they'd just stop calling them cheerleaders. Call them professional sideline dancers, or anything with dancers in their name. Danceleaders with poms maybe? The women they interviewed both spoke about this being the natural next step in their careers as dancers, not that they were longtime youth, HS, all-star or college cheerleaders.
There are only a few NFL teams that have true cheerleaders as we know them, Green Bay being one of them.

Besides, who ever said cheerleaders were "necessary" for a sport? Of course, I'm not saying that they don't add value...but necessary? No. Who is saying that?

(For that matter, the argument could be made that the NFL itself isn't "necessary".)
