Salty? I wouldn't say salty. I still talk to many parents and athletes from the gym. I went to competition and still cheered on many of the athletes I coached and wished them well. I just don't like how I was treated nor do I like how people, who are representatives of the gym, treat their coaches and I'm not just including myself either. I actually work very closely doing volunteer work with a parent whose daughter is at sharks. Do I hold it against her? Definitely not.
I believe if you have nothing really nice to say then don't say it...especially on a social media website. So when coaches go on social media and are blatantly ignorant when you decide to leave a gym then ya...I'm going to be angry about it.

well you're kinda contradicting your beliefs. if you have nothing nice to say don't say anything. that doesn't mean you come on and any time the team is mentioned saying "well i don't think they'll get a bid" "i don't think they're ready" "ill keep my opinions to myself, lol." by doing that you're still being rude. i have a really good friend on that team. they're a FIRST year team. from what a second year satellite program? even being able to field a worlds team that early is amazing and EARNING a bid to worlds is icing on the already amazing cake. stop trying to belittle them and trying to take away from their success by "keeping your opinions to yourself". take your own advice and just don't post about them.

Saying they're not ready is not rude it's an opinion. That's great you have a friend on the team lol so do I and I'm beyond happy that my friends gets to go to worlds! I heard they had a great run through to earn that bid.
Also this is their 3rd year from that satellite gym but most of the athletes were from the already well established gym that closed just prior to sharks acquiring it.
Like I said its my opinion ..do you have to like it? No but regardless I am allowed to post it.

quite informed about the program but thanks. the thing is though you're NOT posting your opinion. you're "trying" to not be rude by "not posting your opinion". there are MANY teams i don't think should be going to worlds but I'm not rude enough to try to make them feel like they don't deserve it. you're embarrassing yourself and making yourself look so bad by posting negative comments any time they're mentioned. pretty obvious you're not over it. but as an adult, maybe you should directly go talk to the gym owners and get your issues straightened out so you can move on with your life.

Thank you SO much on that life lesson. Like I said I don't like how I was treated and there are no issues to be straightened out. I didn't like things so I left lol nothing to really "straighten out". But thanks for the advice ;)

@AliciaM if athletes from that team were reading this thread (which is quite the possibility) how do you think they'd feel about the posts you've made? Just something to keep in mind. From that perspective it seems belittling and hurtful, whether that was your intent or not.
Of course anything constructive is welcome, but I have yet to see that.
**Sidenote: there are MANY teams attending worlds/who attend worlds yearly that shouldn't be there necessarily. Finbacks are doing pretty good for their first year out.

For sure and maybe you're right. Some things I have said may have been a bit out of line. But I wish some of those same people thought about the same thing when I was reading stuff about me on a social website.
I have been walked over many times in my life by people who I've called friends and I usually always treat people like I want to be treated.
You're right I shouldn't punish a whole team for how people on the team treated me but it's hard not to be angry.
I made a promise to myself a long time ago to stop letting people walk all over me and to give what I get. So was it fair for me to be rude about a team on a whole, no. But you know what lots of teams have haters and if they count me as one..so be it.

I understand what you're saying and that you're angry. But on a more general note, the people on the boards are ONLY seeing your reaction. We don't have any idea what has happened to you in the past or what has been said about you on social media (hopefully nothing on here). So, I get that you feel its fair you have such a reaction and that you "give what you get" buuut that being said, us fierceboarders only see you're reaction which is probably making you out to be worse than you are. So your personal vendetta here is not helping you out any or making you seem like a nice (for lack of a better word) person.
Just something to keep in mind. I don't want people to be perceiving you for worse than you actually are cause I'm sure you are a nice girl. Just maybe try and keep your personal feelings towards certain people off the boards :)

So...let's talk about Face Off. Does anyone know how judging will be done? The only info online refers to "fan voting"...which is ridiculous. Also, the cost. $20 per person to watch a two-hour event? CP and I would like to go but not if it means paying $40 to watch the "fan voting" favourite win. Let's face it, GW will win fan favourite hands down. Thoughts?

I agree with fan favourite being GW since they're the most well known, and are from the area (2 gyms are close enough to go and cheer them on, and I'm guessing their Ottawa location will be there too).
Does the $20 also get you into Nationals, or do you have to pay more to get into the face-off. That's a lot of money for a weekend that's already really expensive

No, admission to the Face Off is separate. It's an extra $20 per person.
