Does your gym supply water to athletes?

There is a cooler but it's up to you to bring your own cup. Or, bottles are sold in the Pro Shop for $1, Gatorade is also sold as well.

Ya gotta expose your kids to the germs. How else are they going to build a kick-butt immune system for when they're older :p

Location matters too; I would never, ever let my kids drink tap water in Florida. The water fountains should be better filtered, but mostly aren't in our experience and the water tastes worse than tap water.

Ok, I'll give you that. Florida's water tastes terrible. And there are parts of Maine where the water smells bad so I wouldn't drink the water there either. (I mean, in a pinch I'd drink water in both places.)

But I still stand by my exposing your kids to germs is important statement.

We have a water fountain for athletes to use but we encourage them to bring their own and most do. During the hot days in the summer, we supply cups and ice water in big Gatorade sports coolers.

when I cheered most people typically brought their own water, gym sold water, we had a cafe right next door we could get water from, and there were also two water fountains.

We sell it in the pro shop, or you can fill water bottles in the sink. I try to fill a few at home though and avoid the sinks cos I don't trust everyone to be clean. :)

Respect to New England.. thought bubbler was just a Wisconsin thing :)
In Australia we call them bubblers too :)

Our gym doesn't have a bubbler but we can access the kitchen and can get water from the taps and use cups from there, or buy from a vending machine. Usually I just take a water bottle but in summer have to refill during trainings for sure

Typically on the east coast, most westerners call them water fountains. I tend to freeze a bottle or two that's half full then fill it up with water before training, cold water for the whole time! Woot!

Man oh man, how could I forget about Love Canal?!

ETA: Or are we talking about Onondaga Lake lol? NY is so gr8.

ETA2: maybe NYC's water makes up for it since I hear it's perfect for bagels and pizza :P

Agreed, and in all seriousness, when my kids were young I was the Clorox and sanitizer queen. When they started school they were non-stop sick with every illness, fungus and on antibiotics 4-5 times per year. Oldest has had a chronic auto-immune disease for 14 years now and I think there is a HUGE amount of truth to your statement.

Love Canal, Onondaga Lake and the fact that the special saratoga "spring" water is bubbly because of high doses of radon. my family still drinks it out of the little well at the track every year for good luck... and they all usually get sick while I laugh.

Just bagels. they're boiled in the water. :) the grossness is boiled off and they come out perfect every time.

Researchers are in the beginning stages of linking our cleanliness to the sharp rise in food allergies so this doesn't at all surprise me.

I believe it. I grew up with plenty of dirt and germs and I'm healthy with no allergies. We are absolutely not clean freaks now either and the kids are healthy with no allergies. (Although hubby has allergies & asthma they have not developed it.)
