It is a facemask, she has broken her nose several times, she wears it as a precaution at practices mostly when learning new skills. They had gotten a new pyramid only a week or so before the photoshoot.

Double checked the website (my initial answer was from memory) and it says "11:00 PM ET/PT on CMT"

I get that, but at least they said the routines were "impressively athletic routines akin to gymnastics." So IMO, it's not a hooorrible comparison. *shrug*
