Quitting After First Competition?!?!

we have or first competition in january on a saturday. the next saturday after that we have another competition. a girl on my team never comes to practice and now is saying she's gonna quit the team. she still kept coming to practices and we thought she decided to stay but she said she's not gonna quit until after the first competition. if she quits after the first competition then we are gonna haft to change our whole routine a week before our next competition. anyone else think this isn't good for the rest of our team?? if she wants to quit then she should quit now not after we compete...advice?? :)
