I completely agree, although ECE and Brandon are both apart of the CL.
To me, this falls back to the D1/D2 argument, half the people that were arguing for the split are also the ones happy at the exclusivity of these types of events...
I thought it was All-Levels then The Summit were something like that was mentioned.[
Yes they did but it was geared toward the International contests I can't remember off the top of my head which 2 it was. 1 was supported by Varsity and the other was a branch off from another entity. Sorry I can't remember the more specifics.
One was IFC's World Cheerleading Championship (which is basically another version of ICU with less members and originating from some kind of football association).[

i would have a good feeling that the coaches and gym owners know a whole lot more info then we do to agree to all these new competitions all of a sudden for their season. however i have yet to hear or see anything about there being any reward other then cash, if these teams still plan on going to worlds in 2014, where the heck are they going to get their bid from. cause so far, Revolution and Champions league offer no bids. and i would imagine in order to attend both, the teams will have to give up at least one if not two regular season comps. to attend these.
My CP also received a truancy notice from her school, but her grades were good and I always let them know way ahead of time when she would be out due to cheer. They had her marked as unexcused absences but I had copies of notes that I sent in and requests for homework that was going to be missed to her individual teachers. Nothing was ever done about it.yes, last season I received a letter from my youngest CP's principal but there was no other action taken. My oldest had to get permission to miss the amount of days she needed for competition travel. However, I feel this is more a gym issue than an EP issue, as the gyms can always decline a competition if there is already too much travel with the current schedule.
Not disagreeing with high caliber teams still attending but the reasons (specifically stated by CL) that they're inviting these particular ones are because of a history of high placements and also because they have a traveling fan base. You can look at various threads here of people making plans to attend one or more/discussing its better and cheaper to watch one of these new comps than going to worlds where its overpriced and that's where your financial issues are going to come from. These gyms not only bring their families...fans follow them and buy tickets. If they refused to allow them they'd not only lose basically every gym (if you look at those invitees combined across all of these new competitions) that have racked up multiple globes in multiple divisions but they'd lose their fan base spectators as well in terms of concessions, tickets and other paraphernalia.I guess I don't see it as financial suicide as they have a larger group that would still be in attendance and it would allow so many programs who are still a high caliber to compete and win. There are a lot more teams in attendance to worlds than the select 30 or less getting invited to all these special events
Well, different strokes I guess. We've (as a family) always shied away from joining a program that "wins" because they seek out competitions where they don't have competition. My kids would rather lose to the 2X world champ than win knowing they weren't there.I get that but however how many of the teams that have won have entered a division purposefully because there was very little competition and they could highly increase their chance at a globe. It's happened in large coed and international all girl level 5 and 6. Gyms have made changes to secure a win which helped grow their program level 1-5/6. If a team that is typically a top 10 contender in small senior won I'm sure regardless even with the lack of attendance of two or three teams that normally are in top 5 their program would grow and the title would still be something earned and deserved.
Shimmy x 1000! Nothing worse than to "win" because your toughest/best competitors aren't there that day. Like declaring you're a National Champion when you were the only team in the division. You may have the jacket, you may have the ring, but in your heart you will always know and wonder...Well, different strokes I guess. yes but most teams only go to worlds with a full paid bid, some cant afford anything less. not speaking on all the programs, but if your replacing bid comps, with these non ones then it gives you less chances to get a worlds bid. and you just never know what kind of season your gonna have, poop happens and they could not recieve a worlds bid at all. (not saying that it would happen, cause i doubt it) but you never know.Well last year all teams left NCA with some kind of bid. Lots of teams already had bids and every level 5 without one got at least an at-large.
There are more at large teams at worlds than paid bid teams. With the cash prizes these specialty comps seem to be rewarding, a winning team could go on an at large.yes but most teams only go to worlds with a full paid bid, some cant afford anything less. not speaking on all the programs, but if your replacing bid comps, with these non ones then it gives you less chances to get a worlds bid. and you just never know what kind of season your gonna have, poop happens and they could not recieve a worlds bid at all.
