I think almost every coach finds they have to scale back, but you get the stuff in that really hits the score sheet. If a team beat my team, and they had an extra 5 seconds on their music, I know I wouldn't notice, and I probably wouldn't care.

As much as it pains me to say it though...lol...I think the thread was created to only bash one team as opposed to opening our eyes to the world of a few second overages (and that's NOT ok with my "fairness" barometer).

The original post pointed out one team. A follow up post conveniently referenced 3 teams all from the same gym.

So let me get this straight, this whole thread was started by an observation that wasn't technically accurate about a a routine that hasn't actually competed yet?

When Courtney helped the Worlds producers hire their judges for 2011 (cause everyone knows Varsity works for CEA), she already arranged for the extra time to fit in an extra duck walk. It's in the Worlds packet!

That was me with the follow up post that pointed out all three teams from CEA. Those are the only mixes that I have for this season. I also address that my mixes from worlds all went over 2:30.
I'll admit that it was not smart to only point out one gym and not mention specific gyms from my world mix. I do apologize for that.

Also in later posts I realized that there are valid reasons for going over and commended Courtney for her strategy.

I'm sorry that my first few posts were quick to jump on CEA. I am a big CEA fan though. :)

I was talking about Senior Elite and based if off a video on Youtube of them competing at Cheersport. So yes, they have competed.

But duck walks are VERY important, and honestly worth the extra time.

i pressed play on the video... i then pressed the button on a stop watch on the first movement they made after the music started (which i believe timing should start at the first sound of music)...
i pressed stop on the stop watch when the music went boom....
it was 5 seconds over 2:30.
i'm not look at music (because it is different then what i was watching)
i was basing it off of a single video.... a video of a competed routine

CEA's music seems over time, but it is really not. The speed of all of their crossovers running on and off the mat during the routine builds up a time vortex which distorts all stopwatches in the arena. This is also what allows Maddie enough air time to complete her stunt.

My question is do you intend to do that for every team that will be in a division with 1 of your teams or is it just SE? Will you clock FCA? Tsunami? Marlins? Fame? Any of the Jr Coed 5's? Youth 5's? Open Coed 5's? Small Sr's? Large Ltd 5's. (Is that what they call Ody's division?)

the only reason why i did it is because i saw the video. and said... hmm is that true....
broke out the stopwatch on my blackberry.
and there it was...
5 seconds is a lot.... cheer wise anyway

and there are like 15 videos out.... ill do this for all of them if it would make you happy.

if it was f5 or tsunami or fca, i would have said something too

the board thrives over this drama...
and it wouldnt be competition season if someone from the army didn't hate me.

But what it boils down to.... am i right or am i wrong?
it is over time... im not lying
next.... does it matter that it is over time... that was my question.

also, youre the reigning world champions whether i like it or not. and the only ones with a video out... so until f5 performs... youre the only ones im going to talk about.
