It's weird to me you go to cheer channel and see nothing about the web series. Wouldn't you plaster it all over your site? It looks like it hasn't been updated in years.

There's many oddities around the whole thing for me. I'll be interested to see how this play out.

What I like:
Using famous athletes
It's about Cheerleading
At least seems to be an effort to be rooted to be real

What bothers me:
The uniforms (couldn't have called GK?)
Web series should be their own site honestly, but at least do up your current one. I go there now and can't tell you're one day away from launch
My gut says the show will be a teen drama in the world of cheer instead of a show about the struggles of an Allstar cheerleader. Which means in the end Cheerleading will be a side story and then just a sappy story and no longer unique.
If the cheer parts arent perfect I think it will bother me (it bothers me she went up on her opposite leg)

This is so dark & ominous looking - I hope this doesn't turn out to be a negative.

For something like this to take off they're going to need us (real cheerleaders) to accept and like it. If we don't, I cant see it lasting long. I really hope they realize the majority of us don't want to see dumb teenage drama that can be witnessed by walking into any of our high schools.

I agree based on what I've seen, but I'm certainly not in the target demographic for this show and I almost never watched scripted television anyway. (I'm a news/sports junkie.)

My daughter's 9 (and a cheerleader) and is certainly excited about it.

I was listening to Cheer1FM, and a commercial came on, and this is what i remember "Two Rivals, One secret"
And then from the commercial it said "The best thing about starting over, is you can be whoever you like *enter devious smile here*"
I feel like this isn't going to please any of us.
Plus, I heard the "Cheerlebrity" aspect of it only happens in one episode! I think the real cheerleaders should be the stars, since they'll know what they're talking about and stuff.

This should be interesting....

Interesting question: should a show about Cheerleading be about teenage girls or fans of Cheerleading?

On the opposite leg part, I fly a heel stretch better on my left leg with right leg stretch than vice versa

I can't keep looking at this picture because Kelsey and Whitney throw me off every time. WHY WEREN'T THEY SWITCHED. Ugh symmetry is KEY people.

Girl, I am totally with you about being annoyed with symmetry. I think the problem is Maddie is about 5'7", and Kelsey is about 5'1". It looks like maybe Kelsey is standing on the spring floor, and Maddie is standing below it to make it look like their heights matched, when they really don't.

They could have had Cami and Maddie Match, and Kelsey in the center, and move Whitney back. Problem solved, and symmetrical. Apparently the photographer isn't as OCD as us.

I also don't get why people would be upset because there are two from CEA and two from Cali. They were chosen by the fans. Orange and F5 doesn't have as well-known cheerleaders ("cheerlebrities") as the girls who are on this show. Neither does Cali Lady Bullets.
I would disagree. F5 has a lot of big names as does Orange that have been on the team awhile. They're just a lot less publicized and all looked at equally for their talents, instead of promoting that one "star" girl

Interesting question: should a show about Cheerleading be about teenage girls or fans of Cheerleading?

I wonder if you're asking whether a show about cheer should appeal to fans of the sport or to teenage girls. The answer to that question is yes. Obviously you want fans of cheer to appreciate the show and feel it's a realistic portrayal of the sport, but for the show to be successful it really needs to appeal to a larger demographic. And the most logical demographic for a cheer-oriented show to appeal to is likely females aged 10 to 18.

An interesting show about cheerleaders that appeals to a wide audience only helps the sport.
