I remember one of my coaching jobs was in Greensboro in the early 2000 timeframe. I coached JV and was assuming that no one tumbled, well to my suprise only one girl did not and all of them pretty much had standing backs....and it was jv...when I asked half the girls cheered at GAC and the other CEA...obviously NC cheerleading rocks! The only other states that match would be KY, GA and TN. Coaches in NC are lucky lucky!

Makes me wish NC teams could compete at Nationals. Georgia and SC teams too!
Dont think we're supposed to, but I know Middle Creek won Cheersport last year... haha, Oh those medaling kids...

Get it?
MEDALing?
aha...

Haha! The rule may be different for NC, but I know in SC (I think Georgia too) you just can't compete out of state lines. So that rules out UCA/NCA high school nationals, obviously =(

No, I think youre right! I remember my school coach telling me that we couldnt go to any competitions other than the ones assigned by the school system. NC schools arent allowed to go out of state. I think the coach kinda pulled some strings for them, haha. :D

There are lots of good cheer squads both all-star and school cheer in NC. Both public and private schools have great programs. Cardinal-Gibbons has a routine on a dead floor that will make your jaw drop and could easily be classified as Level 5. Each school depending on their coach decides where to compete. Since only one county in the state considers cheer a sport, some squads under the club heading practice all summer and have the discipline and routine of All-Stars. We are lucky to have such a variety of choices in all-star gyms in the area, that cater to everyone no matter what level or experience they are looking for.

i dont see how this is the apocalypse but I also dont see the point in making a video like this.. im just confused!

incorrect! I have friends that go to Davie and they went to nationals in Florida. They also held the first high school worlds and they won. :)

I could see that, their coach used to be my tumbling coach and he's pretty awesome!

There are actually some good points about the limits of HS competition. Most of it could be fixed with a National HS governing body for Cheer. Maybe that should be a new thread?
