If any CP is good enough to make a worlds team that is IMPRESSIVE, BUT if you just fly or base and dont tumble ,its like being a Designated Hitter in Baseball ,you can be GREAT at what you do but you should never be considered the MVP in the sport .

The only reason she has not tumbled since then is because they say they need more in stunting then tumbling and she has been hurt. But she said when her injury gets better she is going to start working on tumbling.

I believe Kelsey had a cast on her ankle and crutches at worlds this year . Still tumbled...

I have one last thing to say before I give up on this thread, as it should be titled "let's argue about CEA and Maddie", and maybe I shouldn't say this, but if Maddie's knee is fine to be jumping around, out of her group, after winning, she's fine to tumble.

Can we PLEASE stop! maddie AND kelsey are amazing. Maddie is an amazing flyer that is an average level 5 tumbler (yes, a full is level 5 whether or not it was in the routine). Kelsey is an amazing tumbler that is an average level 5 flyer. I love them both (I am honestly a HUGE WCSS and SE fan, as weird as that is). Can we please quit debating the qualifications of teenagers for something they didn't even ask for. As I've said, Maddie is the point flyer of a famous top team. Obviously she is going to be famous, so I don't see the need to keep beating dead horses and putting her down.

I thought I was done but I have one more thing to say... You all complain because Maddie is famous, and you believe she shouldn't be. So you know, when you bring her name up in every other thread out of nowhere (hating or otherwise) it just makes her more known.

my kids from scotland dont know many american teams they could name maybe 5, BUT they know who Maddie is because shes "the girl with that really cool stunt from worlds" . They may not follow american cheer but because she has a highlight stunt that has been talked about, watched, discussed by so many cheerleaders/fans/coaches all over the world she is famous!

Apparently, now we can't even settle for eating our own casseroles, NOW we have to force others to eat our casseroles or they're 'delusional'. :p

ETA: Many people throw similar tumbling passes, even though they are very difficult. Having a very front-and-center, easy to see and remember, 'new' and cool stunt on a team they year they win worlds is much more memorable. Doesn't necessarily mean one person is 'better', but they are, in fact, more memorable.

ehhh, you're actually half wrong. Pitchers have won the MVP title multiple times in baseball. Most don't bat at all, and those that did batted last with averages substantially lower than the rest of the team. They don't win the MVP title often, but multiple pitchers that makes a difference have been able to. I'm not trying to validate Maddie. I actually agree with you, if Worlds was to give MVP titles, I'd be pissed if it went to somebody who didn't participate in every aspect of the routine. I'm just saying the point you were trying to make wasn't really valid within your argument.

Really, it's a similar discussion though. If pitchers win the MVP title in baseball, why has a primary DH never won it? They essentially finish the pitcher's job? Are flyers more important to a team's win than a great tumbler or great base? or really any combination. Is a tumbler more important than the others? What about a base? There's arguments for and against each side.

Man I hate beating the dead horse, but I must say I like for CP to look up to role models that aren't extraordinary in every way. This is reality. And no, I don't think you are weird for liking both teams at all! These are amazing athletes that all deserve a lot of respect no matter WHO they represent!

The air track? Its like a blow up tumble track, kind of feels like a bouncy house.
