All-Star Specialty Passes

Are specialty passes done at all levels or just level 5? What are the different specialty passes?

Its not jsut a level 5 thing. There can be a specialty pass in level one of cart wheels and back walk overs. IMO, specialty means that you have something good and out of the norm/ the best of the team and it is going to be highlighted instead of hidden.

I agree with wcsstilldeath. I consider it to be not a requirement for a level, but is legal. For example, level 2. A roundoff backhandspring is a regular pass, but say a frontwalkover roundoff backhandspring step out roundoff backhandspring would be a specialty pass.

I think teams of all levels should have specialty passes thrown in competition. It's boring to watch a junior 3 team throw 20 ro bhs tucks. Throw in some cartwheels or front walkovers. Front walkover, cartwheel, bhs step out, ro, 2 bhs, tuck would be fun to watch.

Ok, so literally...cp's whole Y2 team did that exact pass (fwo, ro bhs step out, ro bhs)...is it still "specialty" if everyone does it? i'm not being sarcastic, i just don't understand the terminology...like is it specialty because only a select few do it and it's "featured" somehow, or is it specialty solely because it's uncommon? like would an arabian be specialty if the whole team did them?

What a coincidence! I would still consider it specialty because it is more than what's required for that specific level. I guess the terminology is a little off, because a whole team could do specialty passes, and(to me) it would still be a specialty pass.

Thanks! I get it. So like punch front level 3....specialty because not required, but whole teams might perform them. Or aerial??? At level 4???, etc...

I consider a specialty anything that is thrown beyond a straight pass. For example, a level 2 straight pass would be Roundoff backhandsprings. A specialty level 2 would include some or all of the following, frontwalkover, step out ect.
