All-Star Spirit Cheer 2/12 - 13/2011 Hartford, CT

So I have some friends on Open 6 and Open Coed 6 teams this weekend. And apparently level 6 teams are only competing Sunday now. They both said they got an email about it.

Can they do this? If they paid the same amount as everyone else, shouldn't they be allowed to compete two days? And level 6 is a Worlds division, they shouldn't just automatically exclude them.

When I commented yesterday Open 6 was still on the schedule, but it's not anymore.

Apparently, they're being reimbursed for Saturday, but how do you tell a team 4 days before the competition that they're only competing one day. They've made travel arrangements and booked hotel rooms. It's a stupid move to cut 6 teams if they're trying to save time.

Wow, that's redic!!! The schedule keeps changing. Teams are missing from the order still!!! Some are only on it one day.. get it together spirit cheer!!! I am not a fan of this competition, never have been. We only go cause it's so close and a worlds qualifier....

I emailed both the company and spoke with my old coach (who's with one of the coed 6 teams). The company emailed me back and said that Level 6 Worlds teams are eligible to compete both days (okay??). But it's obvious from the first schedule that they weren't going to consider level 6 teams for bids. Look at how the judging is, all of the worlds divisions alternate and have the same judges. Level 6 alternates with Senior Open 5 and Junior 5.

My old coach said that she was told that she could compete both days, but the other two teams in the divisions weren't going to so they would have no competition. That KIND OF explains why Open 6 was on the schedule, but not Coed 6, but now Open 6 isn't either and my friend from ECE has no idea why. And only after complaining that they paid full price did Spirit Cheer say they would reimburse them for a day.

ETA: Now my old coach is telling me that the gym was told that none of the other level 6 teams cared because they weren't going for a bid. But I'm pretty ECE is indeed hoping to get a bid.

That sucks!!! I'd be soo pissed!!! Especially if I made travel arrangments.. All I know is peole are already mad going into this comp. if they run and hour behind like last year a lot of people are going to be complaining!!! I know 3 teams from are Enfield gym arnt going because they were so unsatisfied last year. Only are Naugatuck gym is going...

I didn't think so either, so maybe my friend on the team was just confused about their goals. She was telling me their only other qualifier was Cheersport and knew that wouldn't happen.

did anybody ever find out about the scoring?? 50/50, 40/60?
cant find it anywhere on their website
