Agreed. Sport needs to be well tuned before industry can grow anyways.Standardized sizes would increase competition. Long term it makes the most sense for the sport. (notice I said sport NOT industry)

These divisions don't need to be huge if you give less bids. Then competition would really be the best of the best.
Same would go for a gym. They could have as many teams as they want but Team A may be the premiere teams that travels to certain competitions, while Team B in the division may still travel and be competitive but just not as much. The kids on Team B have an incentive to work harder and get on Team A. This happens in many other sports.
Its not so much hate as it is lack of competition. I love 36, but it is incredibly difficult to field a competitive team at that size. Large senior is a battle to the end, but you really only get the full experience at 1, MAYBE two competitions. I'm curious to parents/coaches of lower levels- have you noticed more teams in large divisions now that their number is 32?I don't understand the hate on 36. I like it, and it looks good.
I feel like 30 is an awkward number.

We usually have quite a number of teams in large jr 3 and large sr 4. It of course depends on the comp itself but on average at least 5-6 teams per division if not more. Its not so much hate as it is lack of competition. Thats what would make it exciting! They would be in the same division and competing directly against each other!

Ing your mental mathmy guess is that every big gym would be against this, because they would end up with teams in the same gym competing against each other.
If you have 50 Senior 2 athletes its nice to be able to make a large and a small vs only being able to take 24 and then moving the other 26 down or up which would then create problems trying to make that team.
768 (I think) is the largest a gym could be without overlapping teams and that is if you have a perfect distribution of your numbers vs the over 1700 that I think you can have now
