Is anyone else excited that this new STUNT format potentially gaining ncaa status will dramatically increase college schoalorships and huge boom to allstar gyms as the sport is emerging? I feel like this is going to be a very exciting few years and having been an allstar cheerleader since 1992 and now with cp - i think all the growth thus far to legitimizing the sport is about to double or triple very rapidly and i feel lucky to be a part of it!

Can't really say I'm excited. Idk anything about it really...

Me either. To be honest I dont really understand what exactly STUNT is...

I tried reading about it but I got lost and disinterested pretty quickly.

I am on the fence about it really. I love the idea of scholarships but at the same time I love seeing some of these college athletes go on to compete at worlds with their gyms and that won't be happening if the NCAA steps in. I would get into my big argument why I am iffy about the entire thing but I have done it too many times already. Guess it is time to just sit back and wait to see what happens.

I doubt it will dramatically effect allstar cheerleading. Especially for males, considering there is no male cheerleaders in stunt. So, if it does dramatically effect allstar cheer then expect a huge drop in males doing the sport.

Im all for it! Yes I know its just for girls but that fine, all of these High school cheerleaders are gonna have to start taking classes and will prob end up on a team. I have a good friend who was cheering in college but wanted more. She didnt really want to do all star and then ended up getting a scholarship to be on Unv of Oregons stunt team. She can toss lib me haha.

Well the kids that make the stunt teams are going to be the ones that are professionally trained. And it gives some purpose to spending the money for allstar cheer - there could be a schloarship at the end of it. At least here in florida a lot of girls are getting into other sports in high school because of that opportunity - volleyball soccer track etc. Coupled with the current media exposure I think allstar is going to explode even more. Maybe I have a different view but in FL competition has been kinda stagnant. There are a handful of good gyms and pretty much everyone else is a train wreck.

That was very educational.

Zzzzzzzz

I'm sorry. That was snarky of me. I just don't find it interesting. I'll encourage anyone that participates. It's still cheerleading!!

it is actually a REALLY good thing that either STUNT or NCATA becomes an NCAA sport. We all love cheer, but now it gives purpose to putting your kid in our sport at age 5. As one of them gets bigger in college we will see more and more all-star teams.

As for the guy thing, I wouldn't hold your breath. If it has any chance of ever recognizing guys it is WAY in the future.
