The feedback I've gotten from Varsity is dance will be in a different location than cheer but nothing set in stone yet. There's a lot of bids for dance. We are hesitant to go for them until we know where the venue is and can get confirmation on cross times being honored for warm ups. Since worlds doesn't allow dance to cheer cross overs, if Summit does it could be a logistical nightmare so we will wait to see. But I'm so excited for this. Great step for dance.

Really? Where did they state that? That would be a major blow to most programs that use dance based on cheer cross.

Sorry just saw they posted it. Wow. Well, at least we know where we stand in taking teams. Makes it an easier decision.

I wonder if Varsity will consider the uncommon styles such as Lyrical or Kick or if they will be strictly sticking to Pom, Jazz, and Hip Hop. This will be interesting. (;

As someone who grew up in AS Dance, I'd love to see some diversity; especially kick!

For our team, it's high kicks. Think Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders but they move formations while kicking for 3 minutes.

Wow, now that sounds hard and the athletes must get quite winded... But when you mentioned high kicks, my immediate thoughts went to the Rockettes...
