Without getting into the legality issue of 2011, I was there in 2010 and they were breath taking! No idea whether they were legal then or not; I just know that it was exciting to see a team SO happy to be there, doing things we had probably never seen yet to that point, and they were the absolute FRIENDLIEST kids on the floor - whether they could speak english or not. I seriously doubt they "had to win" just because of the documentary. Only 1 team can win anyway - what are the chances, documentary or not? I admire their spirit and love of the sport and try not to get caught up in the negatives...

CNN followed Senior Elite to worlds and they didn't win. Plus, I don't think that a competition so prestigious would want to ruin their rep like that. Especially when everyone is trying so hard to get cheering recognized as a sport.

I don't think there was some kind of conspiracy.

Me neither. I think you could argue that there were some poor decisions made by USASF officials, but certainly nothing that rises to the level of a conspiracy.

Everyone is so busy arguing about this that they are neglecting to see how important this is to our community. When was the last time that a good, honest, non-sensationalized, accurately represented portrait of competitive cheer showed up in the media? Joe Schmo from Wyoming isn't going to know whether there were 16 boys or 25 boys, that's not the point of the film. It looks like an awesome documentary that has the potential to influence people in the US and abroad, and show our sport in a positive light. helllooooo

Cause if they are making a documentary they have been making it a long time. People knew going into Worlds they were making a documentary. And a documentary for cheer looks a lot worse if you disqualify a team for having 15 boys on the floor instead of winning.
Hey! Thank you for your concern. The Documentary is really about dream and inspirational on Cheerleading. The inside cheerleading have nothing to do with this documentary. It's kind of them to support us.
This Doc is a project by Luke Cassady-Dorion and Jason W. Best from A Single Production.

About 15 boys, The head judge of Worlds already informed us that we can compete with 15 boys, but they had to deduced 5 scores for each boy. We knew that we were deducted for 15 scores (3 boys) before we walked on the floor.

As we came all the way from another side of the world, we didn't care about award. But, we want to represent our Kingdom of Thailand to show our spirit. Every BU member had devoted their life for 3 months by cutting themselves from the outside world. We voted to have those 3 boys competed with the team because they should be on the floor to compete together as a team. We did not want to focus about award and ignore those 3 boys feeling. (It is a biggest dream for Thai Cheerleaders to be on that floor, you know!)

It's not easy for us to become like what you had seen at ICU and Worlds.

CHEERS!

I just watched the documentary yesterday and loved it! It was very emotional, and a great representation of the hard work international teams go through on the journey to Worlds and to help their country understand cheer better

After seeing this, I'm extremely, incredibly, and fiercely proud to be Thai. I recommend that everyone watch it!
