Inversion stunts- like hand in hand to a one legged stunt (i.e. Brandon, Wildcats, Orange)

On the topic of trends...it is 2012 we better see double ups.

AND If Japan and Thailand are doing those kind of pyramids, there are trends I EXPECT to see.

#stepitupUSA

Brandon's 1 3/4 are pretty solid.. i could see that easily happening... && steel already has a double up heel stretch..

If I'm not mistaken, I believe everyone else is talking about the All-Girl video in the fierce video thread; therefore saying we need to step it up on our co-ed teams if those girls could pull off those amazing skills!

Yeah I think so, there were many questions about the legality of some of the Bangkok pyramids last year - at least with regards to number of spotters. Those world championships don't follow the same rules as USASF/IASF, so they can do skills that aren't legal here.

Plus, to do pyramids like that you need to practice more than the once a week that most open teams do. I think Louisville/GT is one of the few teams that does practice more than once a week and that doesn't really count because not everyone on the GT team is on Louisville and vice versa. And they have to be sure that what they do is legal for the college scoresheet as well.

when you have a group of girls or guys doing standing fulls and then a few of them just do back tucks its a fake full, because it gives the allusion that you have more standing fulls than you actually do
I was thinking to myself that this was a possibility, thank you for confirming :)

Those girls really did two skills very well. Flipping twisting baskets and double up pyramid mounts. Our whole view on Cheerleading here is quite different. We have to worry about legalities and what scores what where. As well double up mounts are significantly easier to a 2 1/2 high pyramid as opposed to a stunt (not saying that it is easy, but trying to out it into perspective).

Frankly the US can't make a routine that compare to there's because of these factors. Just as this team would get its butt kicked over here in a normal division.

Thank you for explaining..I thought their routines contained elements we aren't allowed to do here :)

It has been explained by others, but I said what I did because even if it is coed or all girl there has to be a certain number of spotters here in the US. If they brought that stuff over here with the lack of spotters they would either get the Bangkok treatment or get called for not having enough. The US teams can only have 12 guys on the mat for bid competitions and 15 for Worlds, that still doesn't give enough spotters to compete the things many of these teams do. On top of that I am terrified to know the falls and such that take place at these practices when learning these things. I would rather keep the teams over here safe, while those teams are fun to watch they scare the crap out of me too.

ztaprincess I completely agree about safety! Im on a Level 6 team and I would look at my coach like she was crazy if she asked us to try double ups to a 1-1-1!

Little bad girl is what my team is dancing to this year, I've only heard it in our mix but I'm sure its in others as well...but it goes with our 'theme' this year, which is Bad girls.

I've heard it in 6 routines now... sorry
