What's the going price for tryout/registration fees for this season and what does it cover? I noticed that some gyms have a tryout fee of say $15 - 25 and when you actually register for the program, you pay a registration fee. Others charge you registration fee of about $100 and you are automatically enrolled in the program even if you haven't decided to join, but this is not credited to your first tuition payment. What do you think the better option is?

We have a $25 tryout/registration fee. Then in May our monthly fees start.

We don't have a tryout fee. After tryouts and team placements area announced, we turn in our financial forms and we have the option to either pay for the season in full upfront (for a discount) or pay monthly, but we don't have to pay any fee upfront in order to tryout.

Same at CAC.

We do a $65 fee which includes 4 classes for tumbling and stunting you can teake keading up to tryouts.

I know one gym we were at the gym charged a $50 tryout fee that included a shirt, then after teams were chosen you had to pay the $100 booster club fee in order to secure your spot. The reason behind this is alot of time and effort is spent picking teams and trying to set them up to be as successful as possible. This tends to weed out those kids who go to every gym to tryout just to see who will place them on the highest level team.

We pay a $50 tryout fee and our $200 practice clothes fee the day of tryouts.

We have a $40-$50 tryout fee that includes a t-shirt, and the fee is less for returning athletes. My gym does not have a registration fee and you start making payments in June.

try out fee, which in the past was waived if you brought new cheerleaders with you to try outs, and a registration fee. But reality is that I already have in my hand all fee break downs for next year as well as a comp schedule. That kind of info so early on is a real blessing. You know exactly how much, where it is going and where you are going and when.

Same as my gym. I personally like it because it gives the family to budget their money and I haven't heard a parent complain about the cost setup.

This is how our gym does it, but there are fees. There is a $35 registration fee per year (which doesn't always coincide with try outs, just depends on when you came to the gym). The "tryout fee" is a month of tuition, which covers all of May. But tryouts last 2-3 weeks or so and are held just like regular classes (2 hours 2 days a week) and then regular practices start as soon as your team placement is announced. When you sign up, you get a tryout packet that gives you all costs of everything from uniforms to comp fees, etc and the date they are due. Love how up front and organized it is and no surprises!

Our tryout fees are something like $50, but I believe (not positive) that you get that money credited back if you actually take a spot on the team. I was so overwhelmed with all the paperwork last year that I don't remember exactly what we paid. ;)

It all just blurs together into money not going for new clothes or movies or electricity or food! Basically anything that doesn't invlove cheer!:p
