Sitting here at Josten Center waiting for CP to perform. As I was looking for my seat I couldn't help but notice that there were front row seats with trophies sitting in them. At first I thought they were just saving seats for people which I understand. But, the longer I sit and nobody shows up for the seats I wonder. Now, trophies are nice. I like trophies. But, I don't like other people's trophies enough to believe they deserve a front row seat while I struggle to see my CP perform. Just a brief rant due to frustration. I'm done.

This is the first time one of my teams has competed at UCA and I'm very confused about some of the scoring and placements. Guess it's true that each competition has it's own way of doing things!

I wouldn't say I'm confused completely.

I will say so far 6 of our 8 teams have went..

We have two firsts (large restricted 5) and (small y2)

Two seconds (small j4) and (small s3)

Two thirds (small j2) and (small j3)


Out of all 6 of those teams five had 0 deductions (r5 had a .5 deduction but still took first) and hit probably the best they ever have.

Our j4 and j2 have won every national all season including NCA. Neither got first here.

Our j3 has been like high point nearly every where all season and got first at NCA and didn't get first today

Our y2 won NCA and won today probably in the easiest division. I think they were in the lead like 1.7 something today.

Our s5R got second at NCA but did get first today.

S3 got 2nd at both NCA and UCA.


With that being said.. I took note the teams that beat us all were very clean/ not a lot of choreo routines. Yes they were good.. They generally didn't have gigantic hair or lots of make up like us.. considering our teams done better today then at NCA but placements weren't as great. I kind of think it is our routine style.. Our routines are very flashy / showy routines. Very NCA style routines NCA loves us!!.. So it is what it is.. We love our routines and since everyone today ended with a perfect routine basically so far we are very proud of our girls and going to go out like a champion..with our gold bronze and silver medals.

What a great way to end a season in the most magical place of all! It has been an amazing experience! Hopefully I can share my daughters 3rd place routine with y'all soon so you can see what I see! ;)

They are so many talented teams at every competition...


But my biggest shout out will be to Star Athletics out of Nj. Those are the classiest girls and most respectful girls ever - I hope they win the SUMMIT! we will be cheering for y'all from Texas!!! Good luck ladies!
