Are they really heavy? I would think that the battery pack would be awkward/uncomfortable. Don't get me wrong, I think they're really cool, just the mom in me is looking at the practical side of it.

We just hung it up in my cp's room. She loves how it lights up in response to sound. She really enjoys looking at it, but it isn't very wearable. A light up plaque or a normal jacket or hoodie would have been just as neat and maybe more practical. I do appreciate the thought, though. UCF is going for making things unique and fun, I can tell. I'm sure they'll only get better and better at it as time goes on.
