For those that asked. Some of this is almost laughable given the events of the past day - if it weren't so outrageous;
USASF Governance Overview
The USASF is a not for profit corporation established in Tennessee. It is governed by Bylaws, officers, a Board of Directors, a National Advisory Board, a World Advisory Board, and 13 standing committees. The day to day operation of the USASF is handled by full time, part time, and volunteer staff.
The officers are a President, Vice President, and a Secretary/Treasurer elected by the Board of Directors.
Board of Directors - The Board of Directors has a Chairman plus 12 voting directors and 3 non-voting directors. Nine of the directors represent the competition event producers that originally started the USASF and the original staff of the USASF. These seats are permanent. One seat is for the Chairman of the NACCC. The 3 remaining coach seats are elected by the Board of Directors for 2 year terms. The non-voting seats are represent one each for JAMbrands, The Independent Event Producers, and Varsity Brands. The Board of Directors role is to set policy, mediate disputes between Committees, be the final appeal authority for members disagreeing with Committee decisions, and to insure the USASF stays true to its mission.
National Advisory Board – The National Advisory Board has 25 members who are all elected for 2 year terms by the membership. Ten are coaches, 10 are competition event producer representatives, and 5 are representatives of affiliate members. The role of the National Advisory Board is to set the agenda for the USASF as it addresses the future in a manner that will democratically represent the entire membership of the USASF.
World Advisory Board – The World Advisory Board (WAB) is composed of international industry leaders appointed by the Chairman of the WAB. The role of the WAB is to set the international agenda of the USASF as it addresses the future in a manner that will properly represent the international membership of the USASF.
Committees – The role of USASF Committees is to expertly address specific issues of importance to the many constituencies that are represented by the all star community.
For example, the Rules Committee is composed of the foremost rules experts representing both coaches and competition event providers while the NACCC addresses issues from a coaches perspective including, but not limited to, rules.
