I know that as of right now, a certain music man is deleting/changing several VO's because certain words were used or song choices that weren't appropriate enough. We all have to remember that when you say "I don't see why it's an issue they're senior teams" well thanks to USASF, that "senior" level consists of 12 years, which seems to be the new things for most programs. This information is true, Varsity is just NOT having it with certain words/songs.

Not to mention the music is blasting at an audience, which includes people younger than senior age. Do you know how awkward it was a couple years ago to have my then six year old daughter running around singing the hook from that "Bounce Little Kitty" song?!? Try explaining THAT ONE to the grandparents. Or anyone else for that matter. I shouldn't have to. Whether people want to admit it to themselves or not, cheerleading competitions are family events. Just because the parents, younger siblings, or grandparents of older athletes don't attend them as much as those of younger athletes, does not negate the fact that the content/performance needs to be appropriate for the audience as well as the athletes. This doesn't need to turn into a whole "some regions" are more conservative, yada yada yada, argument. Just please people, try to be a little more tasteful in your selections of music, dance, and even uniform.

This sounds retarded, I don't think they have banned songs - but, I'm sure they have something about vulgarity and for a family audience. #rubbish this post is pointless.
@freakin NCA...:/

Again- if explaining the lyrics of these mixes to your child could get me sent to prison (double-awful if it's in their OWN mix), it probably shouldn't be in there. I can't count how many times I've heard the phrase 'turn me on' or similar phrases in mixes...:oops:

how about if soemone used blunt blowin in there routine? im sure that woukd cause quite a scandal!

This world is getting ridiculous. I hope that word is ok bc if said with the wrong infliction it could be offensive. This world has turned into a everything must be P.C. or you will deeply offend someone. I'm over it I think its dumb. Lets start a campaign for equal opportunity offender. I am now going to be equal offensive to everyone!!

hahaha i've thought about that before! because wouldn't it eventually become not even offensive anymore? Then it makes harder to be mean= better world. I try to explain this but people alway think im on drugs when I do.

I'd like to think there's a general amount of offensiveness that everyone can agree on, and that from the beginning of the season, those songs shouldn't be used (or phrases)..am I the only one who thinks that this whole situation is being blown WAY out of proportion?

I think it is being taken too seriously from so many people. Threads about banned songs and freak outs over voiceovers being changed. It is for NCA (and UCA too I think) not the entire season or even worlds (unless they come out with the same rule). Remember that ALL judges have to agree before anything is done so a judge can't just throw a deduction out there because they feel the need. I feel like people need a take a :chillpill: because it really isn't that big of a deal unless an entire routine or mix is full of profanity.
