So I have recently gotten back into tumbling after stopping cold turkey about 5years ago..
I used to be fully lvl 4 and a handful lvl 5 skills. However I’m now lvl 2 and struggling with tucks!
It just kills my ankles every time! Tumble track it’s fine but on the floor when I take off it almost feels like I’m jamming my ankles... I can’t see what I’m doing if I’m doing it wrong so I can’t tell..
Is it weak ankles or more likely bad technique? Or both?

It could be a combination of everything: not being active definitely decreases strength in ankles, maybe you're landing at a low angle putting extra pressure on your ankles, mayve you were 12 and now you're 17 and your body grew and it feels completely different. If you send us a video we can check out the technique and tell you whether its something you need to fix technique wise or just strengthen the joint. From my experiences having strong ankles is crucial in tumbling and you would want to strenghten them no matter what. Our email is [email protected] in case you want to send us your video.
