Sorry if thread has been done before.. I looked it up by typing in search "random injuries" and "weird" injuries and nothing came up ?

So they other day I was at open gym and I did a round off backhandspring and I didnt my roundoff and literally BROKE my toe. My foot is swollen and my toe is purple and I have periodically been using crutches. Ive sort of blacked out once at my house the next morning on Wednesday from the pain but it has since gotten better. It just baffles me that it happened during a ROUNDOFF haha I have been doing roundoff backhandsprings since I was like 14 ? haha So this is probably one of my most random injuries from tumbling lol so for this I have a couple questions

1. How can I prevent myself from tumbling off my toes and breaking or rebreaking my toes when pushing off the floor??

and 2. what is one of your most random injuires where you just like.. REALLYYYYY ?

I fell from a thighstand (!) and broke something in my middlefoot, hurt the capsule and semi-tore 3 ligaments...

I got my toe stuck in the door when opening it ( it was stuck) and broke it ... also at 30 I attempted an aerial and stepping into to it i rolled my ankle and broke my foot .... and I also was spotting an aero double and go punced in the nose and was broken ... ALL 3 of these happened with in 6 months of each other (after I turned 30) LOL

yes I guess it was the Cheer Gods way of saying I was too old to cheer (although the door injury had nothing to do with cheer)

Well you know what they say.. those who cant dooo .. teach :p I think Ill stick to teaching ! ha

I was doing a standing handspring into a squish pit (not cubes.) and my foot got caught under the spring floor...pulled,stretched, and almost tore several ligaments & tendons. that was almost 5 years ago, and it's still hurt. physical therapy did NOTHINGGGG. :banghead:

and on another note, my gym's last competition of the season, day 1 of Myrtle Beach nationals, I got tumbled on-on my sr 4 team. did physical therapy for a month and have a back injury...seeing a specialist on the 30th. ughhh

i've broken my right middle finger twice in less than a year just from doing a back handspring on the trampoline  it was so random haha

Non cheer related but I once broke my thumb rolling off a mattress...i know... embarrassing. I was then messing around once and did a handstand plop onto a resi mat and re-broke that thumb and sprained the other, weak thumbs I guess.
I also once did a standing tuck off the top of a wedge and over rotated and ended up getting whiplash from landing on my back and my head hitting the ground. Needless to say, I never did that again.

I slipped on ice and busted my head!

I have pics.. There not to bad :)

(I may have posted them before but who remembers lol?)
