All-Star Why Isn't Cheerleading A Sport?

Now that I've watched it, I think it's very ironic the topic of the Leverage episode on TNT this week, "Gimme a K"

I'm really confused on how people can say that a team's sole purpose isn't to compete. All-star teams don't cheer for anybody, so why isn't it a sport? It actually really frustrates me
