This sparks a question... I just looked up Lexie's birthday which is January of 1997. How did Katie Ledecky compete (800m freestyle swim) if her birthday is March of 1997? Does the 16 within the Olympic year only apply to gymnastics?

There's actually no age limit to compete in the Olympics for swimming! There was a 12 year old competing for Cameroon at the Beijing Olympics!

This doesnt look like something that is considered to one day be an Olympic event. Thanks Olympics for showing the World what you think of cheer. USASF would DQ that team.

Not gonna lie... I'm very wary of the IOC inviting cheerleaders over to cheer on the sidelines at different Olympic events. Even with some of the Varsity staff heading over there, who you know will represent the sport well, I feel like this may hurt us down the line when we're really trying to get Olympic sport status for competitive cheer. I could just be super pessimistic tonight, but I feel like this is the very early beginnings of "No Olympic sport status for you, cheering! You're meant to stay on the sidelines and cheer on the real Olympic sports!" =/
