Not gymnastics, but Nathan Adrian won the men's 100m freestyle! He's one of my favorite swimmers and I'm really happy he won a gold! :)

I still can't get over Destinee Hooker's name when volleyball is on. Every time the announcers mention it, my roommates hysterically giggle. She's a great volleyball player, but thank goodness she can get married and change that last name....

haha me too! When i watched it today my brother heard Hooker and could not stop laughing.My last name is funny but not nearly as bad at Hooker. I can only imagine how many times someone has made fun of it.

I am so happy for my second home, Germany, via Marcel Nguyen, getting the silver medal in the Men's AA! First time in 76 years that they have won a medal in gymnastics :) Now that is so awesome!

I'm just really glad Orozco and Danell were able to come back and do so well, especially Danell. Orozco needs to get hooked up with an amazing sports psychologist and start focusing on Rio. A lot of this team is still young and definitely has the potential to be successful, they just need to put it together when it counts. I think (or hope) that now that they have a taste of the Olympics, they can come back more mentally prepared for Rio. Wishful thinking? Maybe, but only time will tell at this point.
And I mean, NBC should totally be pushing it because lord knows they'd get a lot of ratings with that sexy team returning ;)
Oh and one other thing. I'm insanely jealous that the FierceFive (or Fab, whichever) got a phone call from Barack. Forget the gold medal, I want to talk to the President!

Just a point for everyone...I got a photo taken with the fierce board shirt at the women's team finals to represent you all! 2 hours later team USA were olympic champions..the entire board was there at the historic event ;)

SO wish I could've watched women's finals but I was on multiple airplanes. :/ But still, congrats fab 5! Yes, I'm sad Jordyn didn't make AA but think of it in a positive light that Aly and Gabby got to do AA and she did individual. At least she made it to the Olympics! McKayla's vault.... OMG. There are no words to describe how perfectly amazing that vault was. Watching all this makes me wonder if I hadn't been such a stubborn 7 year old and did Rhythmic team at my gym in Oregon (my mom said the coach called her personally trying to get her to convince me to join) would I have had a chance to be there in London? The world may never know :rolleyes:
