Based on all of these videos & placements this year & teams that i got to see in person, i really think there's gonna be a lot of new teams in the top 5 in all divisions!

What Spirit has over everybody is execution.

The longer you've coached the more you realize that execution is everything. Serve me hair flip, but the scoresheet has no hair flip section.

Generally speaking, choreographing routines is pretty much one big game of risk vs. reward.

You spend a lot of time weighing execution/difficulty and asking yourself "Do we continue to ball up to the high heavens if 3/4 of our stunt groups give me severe anxiety?"

Then asking "What does Insert Other Best Team in Our Division have?" Are they balling up to the high heavens like us? Are any of them hanging on for dear life like ours? What if we changed it?" all night long.

LIGHTBULB MOMENT:

Cheer is like Jenga. Really. How high can you stack it before it falls. Basically.

Add WC Odyssey and American Flyers to that list!
You beat me to it. I've seen Odyssey at CL, Nca and UCA and videos don't do them much justice. If they hit like they have shown they can, I got them top three.

Check all of my posts on this thread and I'm repeating myself over and over. I LOVE CSGW!!!! 10's across the board! I'm so happy to see that I loved them/their routine at the beginning of the season, they've kept improving, and I STILL love watching them. Amazing. :cloud9:

Oddy has been my favorite WC team since...well forever basically. The past few years I have wished they could just step it up a little, but this year I feel they could be an underdog that may surprise A LOT of people if they hit at worlds.

Okay, the thing with Lady Bullets for me (and I'm normally LBOD) is it just looks like they're going through the routine. I get the feeling like "Okay, I'm in the air. I hit my high v on 5, then I fan myself on 8, then when we set for baskets I do a snap." Not to sound cliché because this is the only thing that fits: They're not giving me life. It's boring to watch...

That last performance had zero energy. Maybe even negative energy. I was getting tired just watching them. They made everything, especially tumbling, look like a complete struggle (one flyer in particular...watched you the whole time bbygurl). I don't follow LB very well but was that a somewhat new routine? I know they are a great team so I only hope they bring back that hardcore LB sass for Worlds. Teams are out for blood this year.

props to the 3rd in the back left for holding that stunt up until the bases got the top's foot.. wow
my problem with this team is that their stunts look AMAZING, but then they get to running tumbling and i find myself praying that one of them dont tear something in their knees :(

That video is funny for me. I don't think I've ever seen anyone but the girl doing the roundoff double, and maybe one other, underrotate doubles like that. For the most part everyone who does double doubles really well. Hopefully those last 1/8 twists get in fully for Worlds.

ETA: if you're in the IO5 division, I hope you've been doing a LOT of work at practice, because I think a routine hit like this in finals by GWs would be difficult to beat. We'll see though!

although I don't think the last part was entirely necessary I think you're getting the wrong impression. I have nothing against them. just made on observation about running tumbling, specifically. maybe I didn't word it right. I meant in THAT run, there were quite a few doubles that didn't land all the way around, and with the amount of torn ACLs I've seen, that's a strong worry of mine. I can't remember other videos so I guess I shouldn't have said "this team" I should have said "this run". the truth is, there were a few, and those are worth 1.5 marks in deductions at worlds. all I was saying.

and no I am not in the IO5 division. best of luck at worlds!

I didn't take it the wrong way. The end of my statement was general, not to you. I was just saying, in my experience, I've been seeing a majority of those 9 doubles fully rotate consistently both in competition and in practice, so this run did surprise me a bit.

It has the "omg I'm scared look" that my Varsity rookies got the FIRST time they competed (the JV does not compete and I get a lot of girls who haven't done All Star and as such, haven't ever competed.)

The "ok, I'm in the air, phew." look.

Which is weird.

Love me some Lady Bullets! I love that they continue to revamp their routine! I think it keeps the kids excited about the routine! Maybe I have my goggles on but I don't see where so many people have issues with LBs performance. To me they look like they are serving from start to finish with the difficulty to boot! I'm sure once their routine is set in stone they will appear more confident! I'm excited to see what they bring to Florida!

Thread 'Who is excited for NCA College Nationals 2025?'
What teams are you most excited to see? Weber has become one of my favorites! Their stunting and tumbling skills are incredible!
Thread 'Introduce Yourself!'
Let's get the conversation going with some simple introductions. Tell us about yourself. I'll start. My wife and I are actually gymnastics coaches. We have 3 children that are all gymnasts. I took over this site as I am a huge forum junkie. I also run ChalkBucket.com (gymnastics community). ChalkBucket has many parents who have athletes that transition to all-star cheer. This site is a perfect place for them to continue with all the fun that forums are! Also... I am here to learn...
