How do you even judge performance? The only thing that I see as "performing" is the dance and thats just one thing on the score sheet. Skills (tumbling, jumps, stunts etc) are so much more important than that as a whole. I'm not trying to argue and say that having great showmanship is a bad thing necessarily, I just don't think it is really as important for competitive cheerleading as people are making it out to be. That's my opinion and you are free to disagree!

I agree. I think what people are referring to as a "performance factor" is what draws some people to certain teams, and that's fine, but I don't think it is necessary nor do I think it can/should be judged and I definitely don't think it's what makes one team better than another.

ETA: I also don't think Senior Elite or any other team is missing said performance factor. Theirs is just different stylistically than Stars or F5 or even Panthers, who I think all share a similar attitude/sass when performing. Different teams have different styles and that's why it's fun.

You guys are talking like Senior Elite are doing their routine to please you personally. News flash - I know its a very spectator/fan driven sport but - the routine is created to hit the scoresheet not so you can say that they were "fierce" and "sassy".

Whats that saying - "Don't fix what isn't broken?"

I haven't seen her face but from the CheerLive Webcast, she is into it. She is commenting, giving out awards, can't believe there is so many boys. She seems impressed and like she is enjoying herself. Someone there will probably have a better answer, but I think it's been kind of fun listening to her, but my kids are big Dance Moms' fans.

She just gave the bases an award, too, and is learning name of spots on team.

That's absolutely it. People can (and probably will, actually...) argue forever about what team puts on the best performances. I really like WCSS but I didn't see what most people found so incredible in their worlds day 2 performance. Don't get me wrong they did great, but I didn't get that extra WOW factor everyone seemed so impressed by. Nor could I see how people found their performance sooo much better than SE's. I can't explain why, I don't control the way I feel, that's the way it is. But my point is it works both ways : others are also entitled to have an opinion, a feeling, a preference, without having to justify it. I really don't get why, sometimes, people can't seem to agree to disagree on such subjective matters.

And ONCE AGAIN- I'd like to remind everyone who had the number 1 dance at Worlds. Which would be....DUN DUN DUN, Senior Elite. So to say they don't 'perform well' is a factual error. To say they don't perform in a method that grooves with your jive is an opinion, and actually has a basis.

Love them, hate them, but the judges liked all the aspects of the performance. As they are the ones with the worlds title.

I'd also like to make the statement that part of performing is how well you execute. And some teams lost worlds because they didn't hit well. Unless I'm in a venue that values my non-skills performance, that is essentially useless to me. This is not dance, this is cheer.

I am so impressed with every single team that stepped out on that mat today. I wasnt there :( but watched most of the videos and the fact that these teams look so good in October is incredible. Safe to say these teams will have a very successful season. Well done CEA!

Are Coed, SSX or SE going to go again? I turned off the feed for awhile and I'm not sure if they are doing the encore. I'm assuming not since lots of them are just walking around but thought I'd ask before I turn it off.

Ambers fall looks so rough, you could tell she was really shaken by that but I love how you can see the older girls consoling her and talking to her and then she busts out a crazy pyramid haha

Coed is, SE is not. Not sure about the SSX.
