But why try to be a team you're not? Just because it's not a "performance" (that word has been irritating me the past year) to some people doesn't mean it's not entertaining to others. And it doesn't mean it's not 1st place worthy. And if you plan on performing every time, you need to make sure you're consistent.

I think it just comes down to a personal opinion of performance or how a team performs! Personally I'd take stars with a fall or a bobble and with that extra oomph over a clean blah routine! Ya the elements are there! Doubles for days, what seems like a hundred full up tocks and baskets coming from everywhere but to me it just seems like going through the motions! You can be consistent but you can also be flatlined.

I think it's pretty much impossible to judge anything about Senior Elite anymore from showcase. I feel like at their past three showcases (since the 2011-2012 season) they have been trying to do the absolute most at showcase and in the beginning of the season, and then they scale back and refine from there where necessary. At this point I see SE showcase performances as more of a skill/talent showcase rather than an actual routine showcase, because it looks so different from what we actually end up seeing during competition season.

That said, I am amazed at the stunting on that team. The sheer amount of it that happened during that performance is impressive enough, and the fact that almost all of it hit is incredible. I think SE and all of the CEA teams looked great today.

and whatever you like or don't like about senior elite, there's no denying they are loaded with talent.
super impressed they almost hit a perfect routine with tons of difficulty and it's October!

I swear I feel like every year except Sr Elite's 2nd stand out year (2010) people always say it's the same thing when clearly it's not lol. Then you insinuate that those kids don't perform? Crazy! The routine is simply a reflection of CSP's personal style and innovation. Those who enjoy the routine just happen to appreciate that style. Just like with music genres some enjoy Pop, some like R&B, some like Country, and some like Rock but to say it's not still music it's just flat out stupid.

Clearly worlds is MORE than just performance which is why there is no scoring rubric like all the other events in cheerleading. Congratulations to the CEA staff, athletes, and families on an outstanding showcase. I can't wait to see the continuation of the X-evolution :D

Now I'm ready for F5, Stars, Top Gun, Rays, Spirit and Cali! Welcome back competition season it's soooooo great to see you again! How was your summer? LMAO :p

That's absolutely it. People can (and probably will, actually...) argue forever about what team puts on the best performances. I really like WCSS but I didn't see what most people found so incredible in their worlds day 2 performance. Don't get me wrong they did great, but I didn't get that extra WOW factor everyone seemed so impressed by. Nor could I see how people found their performance sooo much better than SE's. I can't explain why, I don't control the way I feel, that's the way it is. But my point is it works both ways : others are also entitled to have an opinion, a feeling, a preference, without having to justify it. I really don't get why, sometimes, people can't seem to agree to disagree on such subjective matters.

Don't get me wrong...I'm always going to be team senior elite...but the choreo in the back during tumbling never ceases to irritate and distract me.

Last year they did that mess that looked like the Carlton. They took it out day two at worlds.

Now this year they're back there Cupid shuffling and doing the wobble. Like can they not. It's so messy.
