Wow!! The co-ed my kiddos are on together competes Sat. afternoon and the team my girlie is on competes late Sat. evening...then the co-ed in back early in the morning on Sunday and my girlie is scheduled for late performance on Sunday and late awards. Then three hour drive home?? My son has to report to HS for 6am lifting for football Monday morning!! Looks like we will be making some memories this weekend!!!

They did update the schedule yesterday. Looks like teams don't perform quite as late now.

Bumping Up as this is getting closer. We are leaving Friday AM for the 6.5 hour drive. Anyone watch Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives? The family is planning on stopping at a restaurant featured on the show in Indy called Zest-Exciting Food Creations. Can't wait to compete!!!

"COACHES!!! REMEMBER- If any of your parents have to stay overnight in a hotel – YOU MUST GO THROUGH OUR HOUSING COMPANY IN ORDER TO COMPETE! We had the policy last year but it was put on late so we just worked with gyms however it MUST be upheld this year!! "

How can they enforce this?

How can they enforce this?

I think that this requirement is going to be hard to enforce. How will they know which parents and families are 'cheer' families? Couldn't you say that you drove home and didn't stay overnight?? And exactly what will be done if they don't use their housing company for their accommodations? What will the repercussions be, disqualification? I'm just not too familiar with this rule, but I am aware that this isn't the only EP that has made this requirement and would like to hear just what they would do...

American Elite will be bringing Mini 1, youth 2, Senior 2, Junior 3, Senior coed 4, Senior 4, Small 5, and Medium Coed 5!

Am sure they have some sort of kickback program so they want as many people booking through the company as possible. Not unheard of in other sports.

It's also so they can show the city the business being brought in and move up the priority list for dates and facilities.

Ok I have a problem with an EP saying I have to book my overnight accommodations through them. I often use hotel points or my time share for cheer travel. If I didn't my kids wouldn't be able to be on a travel team.

There's no way for them to enforce this. Frankly, our rate at the Hyatt, through an employee, is better than the gym block rate. So, we're at "their" hotel, but not through them.
Coach Mike and I might have to tag-team this EP if they try to enforce this rule. Call us "Double Divas."

We are seeing this "requirement" more and more. NCA and CANAM were both "stay and play" comps this year. One reason why they do this, is to guarantee that their athletes have places to stay. In cities where there are a lot of conventions this is important. If there is no where to stay, or if the prices are too high, gyms won't come or will pull out. It has been that way for many years for large conferences. It is just starting to be a trend for cheer.

is this way in volleyball usav regional tournaments and they do check rosters for out of town teams.
