What's everyone's line up predictions for team finals? I would have:

Vault: Gabby, Maggie, Simone (Aly's amanar is just too sketchy for me at the moment)
Bars: Simone, Gabby, Madison (With 3 up 3 count I just don't think you can give Brenna another shot after yesterday)
Beam: Maggie, Aly, Simone
Floor: Maggie, Aly, Simone

I realize this leaves Brenna out of everything. I wonder if Marta will do that. I really don't see her outscoring any of these girls on these events, and I wouldn't put her in just to have her there. Will be interesting to see what happens.

He is indeed! Me too :)
As much as I am delighted for the reigning silver medalist in the men's all-around, I feel terrible for Nile... he gave up his spot in the all-around finals to Whitlock last year after the qualifications because of a wrist injury, and now he's out again? Ugh.

Russia better get that floor blessed for team finals, that floor rotation was a complete catastrophe - a total of 7 OOBs and 3 falls. Their qualification score on floor last year was 61.748 and it's 55.031 now. They couldn't even count Abliazin's, the 2014 world champion on floor, score because he just... gahhh. Devastating is an understatement.

I know what you mean :/ and so the two per country rule strikes again!

Germany didn't do too hot either... they've risked not making finals (and Rio) as they're currently sitting in 5th behind Brazil with 6 more subdivisions to go (U.S.A., China and Japan will most probably push them to 8th at the very least). Potentially no finals for Marcel Nguyen seeing as he didn't make any apparatus finals, which is so sad because this was suppose to be his comeback... he needs more time to get back into his top shape. The entire German team needs to get itself together for the Test event.

may not mean a thing... but simone just tweeted a picture from practice with a certain someone (Brenna) missing... seems odd. or maybe she just had to run to the bathroom and I'm speculating way too much.

ETA: Aly posted the picture not Simone.

I thought the same thing, I don't think you're speculating too much. Wouldn't really make sense for them to keep her in anything besides bars. And she kind of blew that opportunity yesterday unfortunately.

Can't tell, is that Iordache crying? Poor girl- she has such talent and promise!
It is, she was trying so hard to fight back the tears.. [emoji22]

She still has individual all-around ahead of her, so she'll need to harness her fighting spirit and hopefully be able to redeem herself. A podium finish for her isn't very far out of reach...

It'll be weird not seeing the Romanian flag on the score board during team and individual apparatus event finals this week.

U.S.A.s men team are competing in this subdivision, hopefully they perform well under pressure because if the previous subdivisions have proved anything, is that this Worlds has been a nervous mess for most athletes... two apparatus champions from last year's Worlds are out of finals. Uchimura fell on his floor routine (real shocker). Both the Chinese and Japanese men's team have struggled; both teams scored significantly lower than they did during the qualifications round last year. Germany will most probably be edged out of finals by team U.S.A. in just abit, but Brazil has done exceptionally well for themselves... potentially not needing to use their "host country ticket" to qualify for Rio as they sit comfortably in 6th place with just two subdivisions to go.

USA Women's team final lineup -
VT: Douglas, Nichols, Biles
UB: Nichols, Douglas, Kocian
BB: Nichols, Raisman, Biles
FX: Nichols, Raisman, Biles

Maggie on all four!

So after 7 subdivisions of men's qualifications it's safe to say that it's been rather disastrous across the board... Zonderland is out of horizontal bar finals, that's 3 individual apparatus champions from last year out of the finals for the respective events they won in. Overall, every country scored significantly lower than they did during last year's qualifications round except for Brazil (who have held themselves so well so far), South Korea and Switzerland.

Having said all of that, I'm thoroughly impressed by Leyva though, he pulled through fairly well (exceptional on horizontal bars) across all events and is now sitting in 4th going into individual all-around finals. Also, these (almost done, just one subdivision to go but I doubt they'll shake things at the top) final standings just confirmed what I feared for the Germans - they've been edged out finals.

Finals are to come... we'll have to hope for the best and see how that goes, because anything can happen during finals.
