Ha on a slightly off-topic note, has anyone noticed the commentary at Pan-Ams has been...kinda uninformed? They were gushing about how amazing it was the girl representing Bolivia "got to train in America" like she was a dang Make-A-Wish kid...so I googled her and it turns out she's a level 10 gymnast from Texas Dreams who was born and raised in Plano.

(This reminded me a bit of the opening ceremonies from the Sochi Olympics. When Team Ireland walked out, the announcers were like "oh yes! none of these people actually live in Ireland.")

Never thought I would actually miss Tim Daggett. He's pretty annoying ("CATASTROPHIC") but at least he knows his stuff.

Tim does know his stuff. It's just not the same watching gymnastics without his overly dramatic the world is ending commentary ;).

She also got a 7.6 for an execution score on her first vault.

So who finished in first and third, then?

Athlete from Cuba won, and Ellie Black (Canada) came in third. Nobody's E scores were particularly fantastic...but IMO if you get a freaking SEVEN as an E score you should not be on the podium.

Anyone catch any of podium training (before the stream went down)?

I didn't get to see too much. All I've really heard from it is that Aly looks much improved on bars and Maggie Nichols has an amanar now.

Maggie's Amanar looks good, gabby looked pretty decent on beam and love aly on floor. I'm excited to see this all unfold tomorrow.

Gabby looked a little unsure of herself in parts but you can tell the talent is there.

SOOOO bummed because I'll be at a soccer game (????) tomorrow during the live event. Gotta catch up tomorrow night. I think Simone is the runaway favorite to win but 2nd place is really up in the air. I think Aly has the potential to take second if she does what she's capable of.
