Judging by Aly's performance, I'd say they hammered her on execution...hard. She really needs to be smart on what skills she will throw. She has difficulty but she lacks in execution and consistency

Having thousands of instagram followers does not make you a gymnastics prodigy lol. Cute kid, but I'm not a fan of gym/cheer moms pimping their toddlers out on social media for followers and fame. And that baby talk ugh
Also, Simone Biles had to win 10 World titles to get on the show and Ellen didn't even seem impressed, but here she is fawning over this 3 year old?? I just don't get the point of having the little kid on the show in the first place, but whatever.

International Gymnast Magazine Online - Kuksenkov Scratches Russian Nationals After Positive Doping Test for Meldonium
I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt and say that (because the dosage was at the bare minimum) no foul play was intended... but this makes me super nervous for Russia's WAG now.
It's their turn to compete at the Russian Championships next week, so we'll just have to wait and see... [emoji26]

Mustafina will be competing at the Russian Championships after all... but only on bars and beam:

She is still recovering from her knee surgery and experiencing pain in her back. Russia better sponsor her on a one-year vacation after Rio, she deserves it... her body deserves it. I just hope this won't have any long-term effects on her body even after she's done with gymnastics.

Passes are still a little messy, but looking so good for someone who returned so late in the game after a nagging ankle inury.

That whole segment w/ the 3 year old gymnast was annoying, dangerous!, and honestly not very impressive as I've seen those types/levels of skill in similarly aged kids that once they became old enough to legally compete were really nothing special (many gymnasts who start young show a lot of talent as preschoolers - that's how they get tapped out for fast track pre-team groups). Plus I heard the girl was about to turn 4 in that footage, so barely 3.
Ellen needs to stop giving these types of people the fame they are seeking and save the TV spots for people who have actually put in the years of hard work that it takes to actually accomplish something in a sport like gymnastics.

Love her! She is an inspiration and looks amazing, and I want her to medal on beam and floor in Rio as much as I want Brandon to hit at Worlds!
