I think it's cute! Any bigger and it probably wouldn't hold up during her events.

I think she meant the spelling. I also think He Kexin is no longer competing. She retired last year

Women's Line Up for Qualification

USA Gymnastics finalizes women's line-up for 2014 World Championships | usagymworlds.com

Balance beam: Skinner, Kocian, Baumann, Biles, Ross

Floor exercise: Kocian, Baumann, Ross, Skinner, Biles

Vault: Kocian, Baumann, Ross, Skinner, Biles

Uneven bars: Skinner, Biles, Ross, Kocian, Locklear

Team Russia just competed qualifications, falls everywhere. It was rough. Musta was consistent though

I tried watching but they could not hold my attention... I'm also watching football so that was also part of the problem

Thanks for posting - haha - I love how I get all these great links for gymnastics from a cheer board! Haha!

Boy, did Russia mess up on beam - not even the falls, but you can tell they missed a lot of connections - they always have such pretty skills on beam though - love the double turns and the one girl who did a leg spin (wow) - USA just nowhere near as elegant.

USA looked a little shaky on beam too, but at least everyone stayed on and hit their routines. We had issues on bars though. Simone on floor - just wow - wow! She does those double layouts like its nothing, and she has to be like 20 feet high in that first pass of hers. She is in a whole other league in that event.

I do like Russia's leos - they have a Cheer Xtreme vibe going on ;). Hehehe.

Does anyone know why Komova isn't competing for Russia?
Alternate/injured/not in team?

She suffered an ankle injury, this is the 2nd World Championships she's missing out on. =(

ETA: My favourite floor specialist from the Russian team, Ksenia Afanasyeva, is also out with an injury. Half the Russian team members were swapped out/in in the past month.

She was injured over the summer and was only ready on bars. The head of the Russian Gymnastics Federation made it a requirement that athletes have to do two events to make the team.

this question has nothing to do with worlds, but since it's a gymnastics-specific random question I figured I'd put it here? sorry.

Saw on twitter that Bailie Key verbally committed to Florida recently... is this the norm? she isn't even senior-elgible yet (and hasn't competed since elbow surgery) granted she is a phenomenal athlete; she actually won all four individual apparatuses and all-around in an international competition in 2013. crazy talented. but she's still a baby! do other sports recruit athletes and have them commit this young (like prior to entering high school)?
