How tall is Kyla?

I've wondered this for some time now. She was I'm guessing shes 5'4 possibly 5'5. She was 5'1/5'2 ish at the London Olympics and once they said she grew 2-3 inches since then

For comparison (this picture is from 2013) but Brenna Dowell is 5'3, and Kyla is clearly taller.

"A US woman either named Kayla, McKayla or Mykayla has won a vault medal at 4/5 of the last World Championships"

^ just saw that on twitter, such a cool coincidence!?

My DVR got the team final and is set for AA. Doesn't look like they are going to show the event finals on TV :(.

I love Nastia announcing!
I wish they were showing the event finals! At least the top three that way it wouldn't be as long? I might stay up to watch tonight, but I'm not sure.

Haha, I can't decide how I feel about Nastia commentating. I think she's good, but I actually liked Tim and Elfi.

SIMONE WINS BEAM! Congrats to her on her THIRD gold medal and we've still got floor finals! Happy that Bai hit her routine and won silver. She's so pretty to watch. Crushed that Larisa fell and surprised that Mustafina was able to medal while missing a CR? But congrats to her! I still wish Larisa had hit.

So excited for floor finals! If I can stay awake haha

Mustafina deserved that floor bronze but I am heartbroken for McKayla.

Happy for Simone and Larisa, but am SUPER salty about Skinner getting fourth. Her crying made me want to cry. I really wanted her to win a medal and, truthfully, I think she was a bit better than Larisa. Congratulations to Mustafina though! She really knows how to hit when it counts. I'm just going to be bitter about Skinner for a while. Like Cali Elite Worlds 2011 bitter. Ugh I'm going to bed.

Also, snaps for Simone for medalling in everything she competed in! 4/5 were gold! She now has six golds, two silvers, and a bronze and has only competed at two Worlds! :)

Mustafina didn't look very grounded on the beam to begin with, I believe she made a conscious decision at that very second to do a front walkover instead of an aerial walkover and incurred the 0.5 deduction in D score for a missing acrobatic element, which in hindsight was a smart decision that got her the bronze. It was painful to watch the three gymnast fall off the beam one after another, if it was any three to contest for a podium position it would have been these three ladies(Yao, Black and Iordache).

Men's vault final was another hot mess with the top two in qualifiers completely busting both their vaults - my heart goes out to both Yang and Ablyazin. Just goes to show how vaults can either make or break a gymnast.

Got to hand it to North Korea though, double gold for both men and women's vaults.

As someone who's always "artistry" over "tumbling difficulty" I'm delighted for Mustafina but I do feel for Skinner, someone had to come 4th and it just happened to be her. She's very new and has a bright future ahead of her so chin up.

Horizontal/High bar final was exciting as usual. The two sets of connected elements by Zonderland was not only a real crowd pleaser, but really pumped up his D score. I believe he had the highest score across any apparatus throughout the competition, and it was well deserved. The bar also took out a few of the gymnast, including a local favourite(Zhang) whose handguards just snapped right off. Thankfully it happened during one of his easier elements or it wouldn't have ended well for him.

See, I didn't like how Skinner cried - the USA has been dominating that competition - we have nothing to cry about and it doesn't look good IMO. Plus she had also already won a vault individual medal. There are a lot of great gymnasts who didn't get any medals at all.

Now that Claudia girl, she earned a good cry after what happened to her on floor and she held it together much better.

I felt bad for Iordache on beam cause that was her shot for gold (she got a 15.5 in the team, and then when it's just for her shot on her best event she falls :(), as well as the Chinese girl who fell.

Looking forward to the AA competition hitting my DVR so CP can check out the routines.

It was fun being able to discuss things here on this board!

I feel the exact same way about Skinner crying. It annoyed me to see her cry. Yeah you didn't get your bronze, it sucks....it sucks for the other girls too. Save your tears for your pillow. Hold your head high in public.

Felt the same way about Jordin at the Olympics.

I really felt for her because I feel like with injuries, juniors aging up and girls planning to come out of "retirement" (success of that still pending) that might have been Skinner's only Worlds. Of course I hope the best for her but I can just see that happening.

Overall a successful Worlds. The next two years are going to be INTENSE, especially in the USA.

Yeah, there was Jordin, then McKayla and her face for the silver, now another crying incident. All of this while our team is dominating everything and getting medals left and right.

We're going to get a reputation if our gymnasts don't look at the big picture and hold it together when disappointed - just sayin'.
