The NCA arena's good but I don't like that there isn't an upfront section or whatever. I always like competing better when there is a crowd near or next to the stage/floor!

I voted for the bandshell too! Though depending on what time of the day you compete, the sun can be a nightmare!

OMG I had a panic attack my freshman year when we were practicing out there after prelims because I could not see my flyer coming out of a tuck toss AT ALL due to the sun. I mean, literally I threw a hissy fit on stage lmao.... I was so glad to be on an All-girl team, which meant we competed early in the day for finals when the sun wasn't too bad.

I think my senior year they changed the schedule around and I competed at 6PM or so with my all-girl team. That wasn't too bad because the sun was starting to get low. But some of the other years it was pretty bad, though fortunately I was never a base!

To this day though, the worst nerves I've ever had in my life were while waiting inside the castle thing to go on. Nothing is as nerve-wrecking as that is. Although this is my first year at Worlds so we'll see how that goes.

can i cast a vote for worst ever? UPA in Minneapolis. Those who were there will know...

I've been to all of those venues-- Arena. Hands down... No contest. I kind of like that there's no cheering section too... Teams have to rely on themselves to carry them through their performance... Not crowd reaction.

I say the bandshell as well. Dallas is a close 2nd but nothing beats walking out from behind and seeing the beach to the left and the ground covered in (drunk) people and you look up and all the balconies are filled and everyones cheering for you! I'm convinced my team didn't win last year because we had to compete inside and we were meant to win on the bandshell!

The bandshell is a great experience. There can be a few drawbacks though - since the comp is in April, sometimes we still have some cool weather, and it can be pretty windy that close to the beach. On the flip side, sometimes it is very warm with the sun beating down. The atmosphere is what makes it so fun, so all in all it tends to be a favorite comp - and is usually the last one (not counting worlds) of the season for many gyms in our area.

College-bandshell, All-star NCA Arena, so basically NCA does it best!!

GOOD LUCK AT WORLDS, COLOR ME JEALOUS!:)

And about the nerves behind the castle... no joke, our team had 10 freshman on it my freshman year and we were all so nervous that we started crying right there while we were in the hole LMAO... our captains were like OMG YOU GUYS, PULL YOURSELVES TOGETHER hahaha.... oh how I miss it<3

Nca has always had the best venue IMO but they truly out did themselves this year. I felt like I was at a concert with the back drops and lighting. It was so intense yet fun and was just an overall spectacular production. #TeamNCA

College Bandshell is the 2nd best. It is SO unique and amazing to compete outside by the beach. It is so different. I dont think it would work for a large nationals though.

Love the Bandshell! When we lived in Florida, my daughter use to compete there on either the Saturday or Sunday after College Nationals. It was so much fun to sit on the beach and watch teams compete on the huge screen. I also loved how afterwards some of the college teams would run into the ocean with their uniforms on!
